Got me reminiscing.... over a year total in hospitals with at least 8 mo. on total bed rest including 3.5mo. in a body cast from my toes to the pits. Got a bit buggy in the body cast @ age 20, even on a round the clock high dosage of morphine as needed, but no less than every 3 hrs..

Crazy eh? Sounds like a good B-day weekend Dave. :bthumb:

Still whizzing blood and really pounding the water. This one wonders if they gave me the clap or sumpin from the previous person that got scoped in our low rent hospital. :(
Sounds like you need to get your plumbing checked out. Sooner the better. Any pain?

Al, far be it for me to try giving medical advice, but unless you've had this condition before and found it not too serious, passing blood seems to me one of the conditions that require immediate attention. Not trying to sound alarmist if it sounds that way.

With all luck, I will escape this place tomorrow
I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you. :t

I'll be grilling half a cheap steak as soon as the coals are ready. Dew point is >70°F, very muggy. The match was moved out 3 hours, too late for me.

Good news Mayor Frank. I had a hotdog for you for lunch.

Tomorrow I have to wear a mask again at work. Thankfully I'm only working 4 days this week.

Well, whoever or wherever the steak discussion came up, the 20oz chunk of beef is in the sous vide. Pretty sure it's a rib-eye, not a strip, on closer inspection. It'll do. It's Prime regardless, because that's all I buy. 124Âş for a few hours, then finish on the grill.

Definitely warrants pics later, as I only cook steak a few times per year. :bthumb:

Good news Mayor! Sounds like you are on the road to recovery.

Al, wishing you the best. Hope that when they scoped you the other day, they didn't accidentally punch a hole some place.

Well wishes and prayers for the Mayor, Al, Brent, Phil, and any others that may be having some medical problems or issues.

Its like a broiler oven outside! Heat indices over a hunnert & major uncomfortable. We had our brunch outside in the back under an umbrella noonish and it was nice, but gosh(!) it heated up fast afterwards and now heat advisories are in effect thru Tuesday! Decided the smart thing to do was to stay put & do other stuff.

Spent an hour getting it thru AT&T's head that I do not want their free junk 5G phone activated and to leave my present one on, as it is clearly 4G compatible and will continue to work when they affect their change to 5G in Feb. '21. Whot a chore!, but it got done, so one less thing to have to worry with.

Ordered some more of the Fisher Space pens [the bullet shape] w/the replaceable stylus on one end, to use as gifts and stocking stuffer's come Christmas time. Have given several away that I'd bought last time & all of the recipient's have been pleased to get them. Nice, having a pen that writes 100% of the time at hand all the time. Those small bullet pens slip in a pocket and ya don't even know its there. Shirts don't always have pockets; men's pants and cargo shorts do. I find mine as handy as a pocket knife. It lacks the stylus. For a lady, they will fit in a small clutch just fine, if they are going out in a SBD and in anything w/pockets, same as men. They take up very little room.

Coincidentally, we are having fajitas tonight. Caught some nice looking marinated skirt steaks on a flash kinda sale not long ago. Post Independence Day deal where the grocer had sold less than anticipated and so put a few in the freezer. Bride had pulled one to thaw in the fridge last night, unbeknownst to me. :) Cost per # was way under $21! That's scary, even in today's crazy moment.

Find myself recalling Heinlein's fictional character, J. Harshaw, who was credited with saying some rather prescient things, as it turns out, a long time back, but I can't quote it here, lest it be taken as political commentary.

Watching a NASCAR virtual leader board, Keselowski did not not have a good day at all at the Glen. From 1st place lap 6 of the first stage to 35th at the end of the race. :( Stuff happens, in racing, in fishing [the big one, that got away; sometimes confused w/hooking an immovable object & pulling until the line breaks] and life in general.

Passing Volvo's in that manner hardly sounds like fun, Al. Hope you will seek some better assistance tomorrow, before it worsen's further. Mr. York's advise was sound, to my way of thinking. Get that truck on the cam and haul yer issue to where you can get some real help!

I've been a bit of a slacker, being more more of a lurker than a poster. Haven't been posting much or replying to the many great post and comments you all have been making. Think I forgot to clean up the sprinkles from the donuts last Friday as well. Sorry. Think I've been a bit burned out for some reason or another. Maybe its the weather or lack of crazy wimmins in my life recently.

Efly, I've been negligent in congratulating your daughter and you for the great accomplishments she has recently achieved. Congratulations!

90°A. 60% humidity, dew point of 72. A bit breezy. Its been fairly dry despite about 30 points a couple days ago. May get some moisture overnight and the next couple of days. Feels like it wants to storm outside.

In other news there was a stabbing at Walmart in the south county.

ETA: Nice werk Gobbler on the bench and the multi pigeon hole paper sorter thing.

"get yer truck up on the cam and haul,,ect. Wook ,haven,t heard that in awhile.
In years passed I did /felt that a lot.Had Racer Brown and Crane cams in several of my engines that were in the 340 Duster I drag raced.
Put a "Purple Shaft" cam in the 440 in the pick-up.Hit the right RPM and it would come alive,,,no good for towing, which is why I put it in. Pulled it and went to a Crane that was better suited for low end.

Little 84 Plymoth Colt had a turbo, now that was fun......went 300,000 miles before it rusted out from under me, You knew when the turbo kicked in;)

In. Made a trip to the in-laws yesterday and visited a local steakhouse. I wasn't in the mood for steak since we had some really good deer steak a couple of days ago, so I went with a buffalo chicken wrap. I was really good! Headed back to in-laws place after that and my father-in-law mentioned his outside lamp post intermittently working. I inspected and found the socket rather corroded. We attempted to remove it to see if it could be cleaned up, but it broke apart. Another trip into their local small town to the hardware store for the needed parts, and his light is once again functioning normally.

Back home for the evening, Spencer had put his toy mouse on the couch. He showed me how he liked to play with it. Chewed on it a bit like a tough steak. Even when he gets in the wild, solid black pupil, cat gone crazy mode….I can still pick him up and love on him without any resistance on his part. Most cats I wouldn't dare try until they calm down a bit. He is definitely a special kind of cat!!!

Great to hear from you mayor! Keep on fighting the good fight and we'll see you when you get out.

Brent
