Hi everyone, this is my first post although I've been a member for some time.
I purchased my MTR about a month ago and quickly went down a rabbit hole with upgrades and mods. I am a non competetive centerfire shooter who primaraly hunts woodchucks and handloads.
Since I'm 69 yrs old it's getting tougher to achieve the consistancy, so I thought that rimfire would help keep me in tune. The gun now has a oryx chassis, jard trigger and an L3i barrel.
I'm still testing ammo and have primarily shot at 50 yards with decent groups.
earlier this week, a pair of guys were at the 100 yard bench shooting. They packed it up and before they left, covered their shots on a splatter target. Since the 100 yard benches are about 20 yards to the side, I decided to put some rounds on the target they left. I didn't want to dope up the turrets I aimed for the number 9 scoring marker on the target. With the exception of the first shot, the remaining 9 were very close together measuring .516! I don't now if that's considered good or bad, but I was pleased.

Oh!, was that good? ..hahaha
Nice shoot-n outposdave!
Yes that very nice , its also a good sign that they group in a circle.
That is a signal your rifle is talking to you saying (..I WANT TO SHOOT!!!)
haha..i would fiddle around with that rifle and pull them groups in..i bet your rifle will do it. But then again maybe it just needs a few bricks of ammo through it to reveal its magic

You have a shooter..dont sell it

Let’s see the set up outposdave, plzzz

The only change made since this pic has been the scope. The Athlon is a great scope, but the FFP reticle was limiting my ability to sight at the high magnification these old eyes required. I put a sightron Slll straight 45X with a fine crosshair on it and re-installed the Athlon on the 6mm Rem 700 I took it from. I'm very happy with the Sightron so far.

Yes I did. Even though the chassis is marketed as accepting up to a 1.250" barrel, there is a clearance issue on both sides just ahead of where the front action screw is. That area of the chassis is bowel shaped and needs to be massaged a bit on both sides. I was fortunate enough to have a friend with a Bridgeport and he used an end mill to do it. I'm sure that with a little care the same could be done with a dremel. If you look at the photo, you can see the pencil
marks I made roughly showing him where it needed relieved.
