Oh, right. To propose a possible answer to my own question: it looks like maybe the Skinner sight for the 455 fits the bill?

Might be a little harder to adjust than the Williams with the target knobs, but probably the best choice available now.

 

peep sights

The skinner receiver sights are top notch!, Although i have a 455 lux, Mine work exeptionly well. you will have no regrets with the skinners!

 

I use the Williams peep sight on my 452 Ultra Lux. Works really good with the long sight radius.

 

Check Pyramid Air, air gun vender for their Williams peep. Pretty sure some airgun site will have a Williams with target knobs that will work. Where I got mine w/o knobs.

 

Tech Sights

Just got off the phone with Tech Sights and they say the TSM 120 cz made for the 455 will mount on the 457, but forward of the ejection port...it does hang over the port a little but doesn't hinder ejection. Not sure if I want it that far from my eye though.

What did you end up using asrspr?

Aughh, such a disappointment! I wonder if Tech Sights will make a new version for the 457 Scout that can mount closer to the rear.

 

I bought the same 457. I too am looking for a rear aperture sight. Let me know what you find please.

 

I have used a couple of the barrel mounted peeps from Skinner--They work great--I know they are forward from where you want but they are great sights and work very well Skinner guys are the best--call and discuss--they are a really good company

 

NECG

New England Custom Gun Service shows a rear aperture sight and says it fits 1/2 and 11mm receiver grooves. Fully adjustable but no knobs. $90. I have used their center fire products for years and can attest to the quality. Might be worth a look.

That is a WGRS, Williams should be able to tell you which model fits a 11mm dovetail, likely have to raise the front sight a good bit to work with it.

 

Old post I know but any news on what models do work at this time? Not too many recent posts on CZ 457 Apetrture\Peep sights. Ideally, I'd like one with knobs for my son shooting 4H. Looking at getting a training model for him.

I have a Skinner receiver sight on my 457 Scout. A Williams WGRS would probably work also. The Williams foolproof with the target knobs, for the CZ 452/455 series did not fit.

 

Not my photo or rifle but this was just posted to Reddit. A MTR with Anschutz rear peep sights and a barrel clamp for the front sight. Of course, a Trainer rifle would have a different set up for the front sight but you always have options. Also, if you could source BRNO match sights or an old BRNO with the peep sights included that could be an option.

I believe the Williams rear aperture for the CZ is designated CZ-FP-TK (the TK standing for Thumb Knobs). Works great on the Trainer, Lux, Jaguar (nee UltraLux).

Are there any updates to this? I have a 457 Premium and shot it for the first time yesterday using the ladder sights. My old eyes need something better in the irons department. I want to retain the CZ front sight if I can.

So far it seems the Skinner, Williams & J&P Products works. However some may work, eg NECG and Tech Sights.

Is the 455 dovetail different to the 457 as I wonder why some manufacturers only list the 452/455 but not the 457? Does they both use a 11mm?

I like the J&P inserts however they don't ship to Australia

I have a Skinner peep on an old Remington Targetmaster--works great and they are Top Quality company

 

I just put a Williams FP-AG on my 457 LUX and I love it. I did have to adjust the front sight almost all the way up. Decided to remove the front sight shroud due to the height needed.

So what's the consensus of which is better/more accurate Williams or Skinner for the 457 application? The Williams appears to have more adjustment since you have to spin the aperture up/down on the Skinner. However the Skinner can be mounted further back on the receiver.

 

Personally I'll trade 2 inches of sight radius for the increased range of adjustment, but that's a personal thing.

 

I agree the Williams seems the better bet.

The Williams can also be brought back a little bit, you will see how when you get one.

And yes, it is the better deal.

 

Does anyone know who has stocks of the Williams (FP-AG-TK or is it CZ-FP-TK) who ships internationally? Brownells has no stock and Williams doesn't seem to answer emails.
