Picked up a 457 Lux last week and I think I got one of the decent ones: crown and striker look good, the wood has marginally interesting figure, and the barrel free floats. I haven't taken a look with a borescope, but it shoots in the neighborhood of 1 MOA with SK Rifle Match and that's good enough for me. It's my first CZ rifle and my first rimfire rifle with decent iron sights and I really like it.
One slight disappointment is that the 457 action no longer allows mounting the Williams FP-CZ receiver peep sights. The bolt handle is further up the bolt body and the sight juts out too far to the right of the dovetail to allow cycling. I can't tell for sure, but suspect that the 455 Tech-Sights also wouldn't work for the same reason. I assume the JP Custom 452/455 apertures fit on the 457 factory rear sight, but I prefer a longer sight radius.
Does anyone know if there is a receiver-mounted peep sight that will work on the 457? I know that the first accessories made for the 457 are just just starting to trickle out, but it'd just need to be something that can affix to an 11mm dovetail and doesn't stick out as much on the right side. I imagine that maybe one of the 452/455 options might work with a dovetail riser and an alternate front sight, but that would mess up the lines of a handsome rifle.
