Wrangler madness!

Not really, some folks have it a lot worse than I do. I started out with a brace of 4 5/8" guns with black pearlite from Arizona Custom Grips.

Then I made a black double Mexican loop rig for it.

Then I snagged a birdshead model, to which I added the black micarta grips from my Carryhawk.

And a little Slim Jim holster.

Decided to go a different direction with the pair of 7.5's. Arizona Custom faux stag grips and I'll make a distressed brown leather rig for them.

So far these are my favorites. Already have one holster on the way.

I’ve been a Single Six guy since 1976, but when they came out with the Birdshead Wrangler I bought one. The first thing I did was to replace the grips.

Recently they came out with a Sheriff’s model Wrangler. Uh Oh!

For now I like the look of the two tone Sheriff with Black Laminate best :)

I bought a black Wrangler to keep on the tractor. Figured for the money it wouldn’t matter if it got scratched up a little from jostling around. It actually is a fun little gun! Mine is quite accurate. The loading gate is a pain in the butt if you shoot a lot. I would prefer the adjustable sights of the Super, but mine pretty much shoots to the sights so I’m happy.

Ordered a silver Wrangler 4 days after it was introduced in 2019, It had a 3000 range serial number, unfortunately it shot about 6 inches low at 15-20 yards. last week I bought a silver Super Wrangler with adjustable sights that shoots great with both 22 and 22 mag cylinders. Sold the original for what I paid less the transfer fee, overall out of pocket extra cost was less that $100, I am a happy camper.

I think Ruger wants to make money more than guns. They can put out far
more Wranglers than the Single Sixes in a run. Especially the Stainless models. They have priced up the Single Sixes high enough to make an occasional run worth it. Time will tell whether they stop it indefinitely. They want maximum production. Can’t blame them. The more they offer the less they can produce. Setup time. Handwork. Both killers for production. Most of the young people don’t like revolvers anyway. Especially cowboy ones. Ruger is just looking forward. My Wrangler and Single Six. The Single Six is a real shooter. The Wrangler is a plinker.

No bites on the black Wrangler at the one shop, but they want a minimum of $50 for the consignment, they were asking $200, too many discounted new ones around for that, no big deal. Thought I was taking the S Wrangler to the range last week, got there and I'd grabbed the wrong box...lol.

Just bought the silver Super Wrangler today. No real reason except it was at the LGS and so was I. I have a regular Wrangler too that is at the duck club, used mainly for dispatching trapped vermin. It’s a little scratched up, but does the job every time. I will try the S Wrangler when I get it after the 10 day wait.

I know you will like it, I also have a birds head 3.5 inch regular wangler it shoots OK and is as accurate as I am, but the adjustable sights make for better accuracy. 10 day wait  I get to wait 3 days out here. no bother takes more time to get here. you will enjoy it.

I picked up a Super Wrangler about a month ago. I watched a lot of YouTube videos on the original Wrangler and wasn't too impressed by the accuracy many were reporting. Seemed like the newer the video, the better the accuracy was, so I kept waiting. Then the Super Wrangler came out and even though I have a 1976 Super Single Six, I still had to have the SW. I even made some custom grips for it out of poplar, and added some paint on the sights. Fun little revolver to shoot in .22 short, long rifle or magnum.

I just received the burnt bronze Super Wrangler this morning at my LGS, via a dealer in southern MN. A few minutes after returning home, FedEx showed up with the rosewood (w/ no lock) grips, and I am plumb tickled with this first .22WMR in the collection. After hearing and seeing friends talk about the convertible stainless Single Six (SE Alaska salmon troll friends liked it.) for years, it always seemed to be above my price range. 5-1/2' barrel length seems right for a revolver (My first handgun is a RST-6, Ruger Standard Auto 6" purchased new in early 1980, with Ruger walnut grips added after several attempts with returned checks, several vendors (Numrich and Ruger) back in the U.S. Mule days.) Some reviews at Ruger shop noted that the grips were darker than pictured, but these are beautiful, and thicker than the stock rubber. The DeSantis Wild Hog holster arrives tomorrow or the next day from another dealer as it was out of stock at Ruger shop, but it is now back in stock, so I ordered the companion cylinder holster as both are now in stock, while the grips are not. 20% discount code from Ruger with product registration...
