Which extended mag release do you fellas recommend for a STOCK BX trigger group, the only mod I also have on order is the VQ bolt release? Does the Ruger on work in the BX group. Thanks.

I had the old 'flat' release, thought I wanted an extended and got a factory one. It has been fine for plinking and general shooting out back. Then I took the rifle on a walkabout on the back 40.......the carry/balance point is about where the release is. I am not confident I wont have an accidental mag drop 'somewhere'.
I am thinking of putting the original back in but with a small button-head screw in it to feel where it is.

How do you like it? I have them on all of my 10/22's.
I think they're the best! Billet aluminum and available in various colors.
Follows the natural contours of the gun, yet is easy to get you... and also out of the way.
Also inexpensive. Back when I bought these, they were around $17. Not sure what they are now... but can't be nearly as expensive as some of the stuff out there!

Some of my rifles still have the original flush push up, some have the next factory progression stubby lever. I think my favorite isn't being made anymore. It was shaped just like the tac sol but made out of plastic. Its just so easy to move your trigger finger forward and drop the mag. Where I really came to like that release was my first trip out west to a varmint colony where we shot 1 to 2 K a day at the bench. When your on the front rest and on a rear bag the last thing you want to do is fumble around with some hoaky mag release when the shooting is fast & furious. For my style of shooting I can tell you what I won't use. Anything long lever or anything metallic. If your out all day in the hot sun the metallic gets too hot, is abrasive if you catch it on things and it will chip the glass if you shoot out of vehicles. For the trigger groups I'm building ahead I'm using the Ruger stubby lever and the Ruger Charger lever. Its all personal preference guys, use what you like and works for you and we have a good selection to choose from.

Ruger Extended Mag Release Ruger 10/22 Polymer Black about 20 bucks when on sale.

I have been using and like the Tac-Sol Extended release on a build in a Magpul stock. Trying out their Performance release on another build that's in a chassis with B5 pistol grip. Didn't like the how Extended wrapped all the way around the trigger guard when using the pistol grip. Performance works better for me on a pistol grip setup. I wasn't a fan of the stock paddle or the Volquarsten extended release.

I was surprised that Magnum Research used a flat release on their proprietary trigger group.its a nice trigger, metal housing , etc,
Came on my Steel barrel WMR.
I pm d them for a schematic, to which the replied , “ nope” I then asked if they had an extended mag release for it, same answer. I then asked if the 1022 parts would work, and they said, “ after some modification “ I think they train their customer service people to work for jwh, or the airlines .
