I noticed this ammo is hard to find. Can anyone help me find some ammo. I just bought the gun, but can't get my hands on any ammo for it. I'm not sure if I am posting this in the wrong place. Any help would be appreciated.

The last two gun shows I have noticed no one selling that round. All other all over place venders selling ammo at high prices.

I can say one thing I was glad back in April & May I hot all the Walmarts that were selling ammo, and bought has such has they had knowing we will have shortage, from all from 6 stores. Last count 5,600 rounds.
Now no Walmart here sells ammo.

Mach 2 is pretty easy to find, and I satisfied my .22lr need with a large purchase of Ely Edge (black).

I have about 600-800 rounds of 17hmr. The rifle I'll use with this ammo isn't in my hands yet. It will be a single shot so I suppose my supply will last some time.
Yes, it will take a long time to shoot that much ammunition in a "mere" single shot rifle ;).

I shot 25 rounds of 17 hmr last week. This time last year I was averaging 4 boxes a week... have only bought 2x bricks since march of last year, that's a tenth of my 2019 17 hmr buying.....

Unless life returns to normal quickly, the ammo companies are the issue. Nobody is going on a vacation, large segments of the usa cannot eat out or go to Disney or a cruise. It's been a renaissance in biking skiing and the shooting sports. It's hard to get any outdoor equipment right now, but unlike the other spaces ammo is limited to domestic production that cannot expand to meet demand. Guessing that the only new normal is going to be the nation's appetite for ammo. None of the new shooters I trained had any ammo on hand, several have recently bought 17s as it was on the shelf. Until manufacturing increases production the shortage will persist, regardless of if we help someone find some or not.

Those of use old enough to remember all the other shortages and how the cycle will continue. Toilet paper is a good example, everyone's TP needs stayed the same, but buy panic buying and hording took place causing a shortage. The market will hit a saturation point and the price will drop again. Some other stuff happened to make this shortage a bad one, but this cycle will finish and a another one will start. Now is not the time to buy.
