Forgive me if I'm late to the party but I've gotten the 22 pistol bug and while I used to see browning 1911-22s all over the place they seemed to have all dried up and are not in stock anywhere? Add to the fact that I am on the hunt for a very particular model the 1911-22 Black Label Medallion Compact Suppressor Ready which looks from the browning website that its discontinued

And now I'm in a world of hurt trying to find one.

I have to say I have a few reasons for wanting this specific one which I could detail, not least of which is size which will facilitate teaching small hands. But I never really thought about getting one when they were plentiful as the price they where selling them new just didn't make sense to me and really still doesn't so I imagine I'm in for even more hurt if I ever find one because of "scarcity" pricing now. So this is a half asking post, where did they all go and why? And half banging my head on the wall I didn't just pony up for one when I had the chance. Kudos to anyone that could help me find one.

Hi, yeah I've been there. "Ow mommy it hurts!" :(

So I see a none suppressor ready that you could spend another $175 having it threaded:

Or this fellow is mighty proud of his used non-medallion suppressor ready model https://www.gunbroker.com/item/942258629

I love my Browing 1911 .22 but I also love my Colt/Umarex 1911-22 which runs about half the price. Lot of guys have good luck with the GSG versions too.

Unless you have tiny hands the full size 1911-22s fit most people's hands and frankly I like the sights a lot better. My 85% Browning is a bear to see in poor lighting conditions.

I'm probably confusing you more than helping!

This is an excellent suggestion.

I got an Advantage Arms conversion that is an older iteration of the Bob Marvel design than the Nelson Custom Guns version. Marvel also uses an older iteration of the Bob Marvel design. Nelson appears to have best quality of the Bob Marvel designed conversions.

If I were to do it again, I’d definitely get a Nelson conversion for my 1911.

I have a Black Mamba that has well over 100K rounds through it. I've actually slowed down a little with it. A few months ago I got a deal on Norma Tac 22 ammo and have been shooting a brick each week. I find that the extra lubricant helps with reliability in the gun and in my McFadden Ultimate Clip Loader. I no longer have to put a spray of RemOil in the loader to get all the rounds to load without a problem
