Hey everybody. i just got a western field model 832 and was just wondering what was the general opinion of them? the wood is pretty nice justa couple scratches here n there.the blueing needs a few places touched up but is a really pretty rifle.it has sort of a basketweave pattern in the checkering and a monte carlo stock. it has a heavy trigger. is there any way to lighten it? anybody know where i can get a leather sling that would look like the original type for it? thanks for any help

The 832 is a clone to the Mossberg 341. While most of us, but not all of us, are into the older Mossies, the 341 is a good rifle and a straight shooter. I've had a couple of them, and wish like heck I would have kept a certain one of them. It was a real shooter.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I put an older 4x weaver on it and shot a couple groups with it and was actually shocked at how well it shot. Made a nice clover leaf shaped 5 shot hole at 25 yards with Cci sv. Its more accurate than I am. If the trigger can be made a Lil lighter it would be hard to beat.

Yup...

Yup, there is info on adjusting mags and the angle bar that the mags attach to!!! If you have a problem go to the "MTS" thread and browse there first. "Damguy's" website is also an excellent source of info, and its in the bottom sticky!!!
Glad to have you on board!!! :Welcome:  :yippee:

Ty. I luv the checkering also. Sorta reminds me of mountains. This rifle just fits me. I traded an old white powder wonder single shot 12GA for it and couldn't be happier. That old 12 would knock the fool outa you with cheap shells. Definitely more fun to shoot this Purdy thang. Lol
