i think don stith will make them? being a flat bottom makes it pretty easy to do.

 

i think ek marlin will make them too. but they'll both need an original stock to
copy the inletting from. jim peightal probably could do it as well with another
stock for a guide.

 

Thanks for the replies guys, how do I contact these individuals. I have some original stocks that are busted.
Would you buy a rifle with a stock from one of these makers yourselves?
I ask only to see what the quality of their work might be.

 

the only truly original ones were made in russia. jim peightal and don stith
mainly make benchrest stocks. ek marlin makes custom stocks, you can pm
him, he hangs out at the suhl forum quite a bit, look up their post histories
and you'll see some of their work. pm me if you need their phone numbers.
i've bought don stith stocks, jim peightal i probably will sometime in the future.
and would buy eks stocks no problem, there's also a guy turmite (mike turner)
who is an old stockmaker he has some stocks on the 10-22 forum, keep your
busted ones they could probably use those for a template.

I would be interested in buying any broken vostok ural stocks .

i tried once to swap my vostok ural into my vostok cm-2 stock, it
won't work they're different, i don't know if the cm-2 ishmash will
interchange with the cm-2 vostok or not.

 

Tom can you or anyone post images of the two stocks topside inletting? I have or had one of them. I will have to go back in my old files and find it.

the cm-2 is an izhmash, the ural 2 is a vostok, if i can dig it out,
i also have a vostok cm-2 regular length. i'll try to get pictures
of it tomorrow.
