Victory Failure to eject

Just tried my brand new victory and it did not turn out well. Every 2-3 rounds I get a FTE, either stove pipes or just the spent round floating around in the chamber.

Looks like it is feeding ok, just not ejecting.
Tried Federal auto match, Aguila super extra and CCI standard velocity. No difference between any of these brands.

I have tried cleaning and oiling several times with no changes.
Shot a little over 100 rounds with no improvement.

Also found that the spring is missing under the rear sight elevation. The screw backed out due to firing with no load from the missing spring. Almost lost the screw.

Guess I will be calling S&W on Monday

The ejector was my problem. I bent it over slightly and everything seems to be working well now. I found a video on youtube showing someone else doing that exact same thing. Seems that S&W would test these things a little better.

Still have to call them on Monday about the missing spring on the rear sight.

Thanks

Be careful when cleaning the slide

My Victory was "PERFECT" about 6 or 700 rounds or more and not a single hiccup.
After cleaning it I had the failure to eject problem a whole lot.
I ordered a tandocross ejecter and still had the problem. I called TC and the person I spoke to told me about the rod being bent in. He told me to bend it back out to center and try it.
Yes. Perfect again with no failures.
I figured out just what I did wrong.
When cleaning the slide, I put a shotgun patch on my rod and swabbed it and that is when I personally had bent the rod in.
It will never ever happen again and was a good learning experience for me to pass on.
Live & learn

PS: My victory will fire "ANY" ammo I feed it with never a problem at all.
I use CCI
Federal,
Winchester "M"
Remington
American Eagle
What ever I can get a deal on

I have been having a lot of FTE with this pistol. Couldn't get a magazine full through it. A lot of stove pipes. I kept telling myself it just needed a bit more shooting to wear in or I needed to find ammo it liked.

Last weekend I was out to OGC. I was able to put several magazines of Norma Tac .22 and CCI standard velocity down range without a problem. Things were looking up.

On youtube I saw some videos showing how to bend the ejector slightly to cure the same symptoms mine had.

Today the boy and I headed out to shoot our postal match targets. Shot a bit to warm up and again and same old problems. I figured it was worth a shot. Turned it over and removed the barrel retaining screw, pulled the bolt out, took the Leatherman and ever so slightly bent the ejector about 1mm or so. Put it back together and she was digesting all the ammo types I had with. It was amazing. I do not think I could measure the amount that I moved the ejector but it made a world of difference.. It is a sheetmetal piece that is spot welded in place.

Since we were shooting our match targets I only had the better stuff with. Federal HV Match, Federal Premium Hunter Match, Norma Tac .22, and CCI Standard Velocity.

I will have to return with the crap ammo and see how it goes.
