If you haven't fixed this you need to push down and back on the barrel and it will lock into place and the slide will then come forward. Hope this helps.

With the gun unloaded, give the front of the barrel a good smack with the palm of your hand, see if that kicks it back and locks it in. Also remember to put oil inside these four small rails, where the barrel slides into and is held -

I have the exact same problem. How did you solve it?

I tried pushing down and back on the barrel but it didn't work.

I always wonder about threads like this that wither on the vine with seemingly no resolution. Surely, of the three people here who have reported the same issue, somebody has come up with a fix. (?)

Figured it out. On top of the compact, where the frame is cut out, push down on the breech end of the barrel and it will release the slide. Pistol worked and shot just fine after that.

LOL. Wish I would’ve seen this thread before I drove all the pins out and gutted the frame……oh well, all back together and working fine.

 

I sent mine back to Taurus. They repaired it and returned it in a few weeks.

 

I pressed the barrel end down firmly on the floor and it fixed it
