Anyone ever shot a TOZ 78?

Purchased from a member here long ago, an attempt at refinishing it had ended badly...so

The Son wanted something accurate but relatively inexpensive for around his house so the rifle and a brick of Fed 510 moved in, he seldom shoots it but it will still stay between 5/8 and 3/4 inch at 50 yards with Fed 510. Good values and a reputation for being durable to boot.

I have both a TO3-78 and a Winchester Wildcat sporter. The Wildcat looks like a scaled down rifle for a child. Much like a Ruger 10/22 16" carbine looks like a kid's rifle.

My TO3 came from racebannon here. Fortunately, I found a bunch of original TO3 78 mags that never had the mag catch notch cut for a specific rifle, so I have spares for either rifle if needed.

Been posting in the Winchester forum, think Ill try here. I have a Wildcat 22lr. that has no trigger adjustment. Is there anything I can do? It is very accurate and I believe if I could lesson the trigger pull I would have better groups. I have been searching internet to see if I could even find spare parts off of one of the models that had the adjustable trigger but no luck. Thanks for any help.

TOZ-78

I'm surprised that given the amount of skill that must exist among the members of this forum, that no one has suggested making a proper target stock for the gun. An ergonomic stock will appropriate bedding allows for a better and more stable hold. It would get you more points than an adjustable trigger (unless the trigger pull is ridiculously heavy; which the pull on the TOZ-78 is not). A non-adjustable trigger doesn't come out of calibration very often (or ever). Take a look at a Feinwerkbau match rifle with a wooden stock. That design is pretty good if you want better accuracy. The triggers on the TOZ-78 light pattern rifles are fine just as they are. Next, you'll need better ammo, but I'm sure you know where to get that.

TOZ 78 / Winchester Wildcat

I live in Canada , and have shot at a US club for many years . Last year my rimfire
repeater was not allowed into the US on my ATF form . I emailed and phoned the
licence people , but I got no reply . It must be a dangerous long arm . It was
imported into the US by Winchester Corp .. I miss shooting it .
