Does anyone know what happened to 10-22fungun? Scott Werx? Is he out of Business? Wanted to order a kit, and the site is gone.

10/22 Thompson kit

I looked around and came up empty also. The company was in California so it may have fallen afoul of local regulations and gone under. Too bad, they sold a nice kit with good options! I bought one of the "Squad" version kits about a year ago. They are easy to install and great fun to shoot! If you look around you might find a used kit or converted gun. Good luck!

Hello.
This is Scott from Scott Werx.

I thought I would update everyone on what has happened as regards kit production.
My long time metal supplier (who was certainly giving me "good guy" pricing which I passed along) had to retire early and unexpectedly due to medical reasons.
I had the kits quoted for production by a number of new vendors, unfortunately the price went up over $100 per kit, which would have pushed the retail kit price to over $400.
At this higher price there would still be some sales but not enough volume to cover overhead and the costs of new tooling, CNC programs, etcetera.
So for now the kits have been discontinued. :(

I want to thank all my customers for giving me a try.
It has truly been a pleasure dealing with so many great people.
The kits were a labor of love, made by a shooter for fellow shooters.
I made the fist kit for myself with no intentions of making more.
But when people saw them, they like them and started throwing money at me, so a business was born.
The many positive comments on the kits have made all the work that went into them worthwhile.

For now, kit production has ended.
I will be watching the industry and if the opportunity presents itself, the kits may go back into production.

Thank you all again.
- Scott

Thanx for bringing us up to date :bthumb:
Too bad that circumstances backfired on you, a not uncommon story in the odd-ball gun/gun parts cottage industry.
Kudos to you for even giving it a go, a lot of good ideas never get past the conversation stage.

Don't worry - It never hurts to ask.

If you can't find one of the Tommy Gun kits, maybe you can find one of the Green Mountain "Reising" stocks they made for their finned barrels. They currently show it as "out of stock", but I doubt they will be making more.

I picked up this gun set up as you see it (I added the rail/rear peep) earlier this year for $250.00 (his asking price)...

Since this photo was taken I put an older Aimpoint 3000 I had sitting on the shelf on it - kinda keeps a "military look" to it, and it is a fun range toy!

I let folks use it at our clubs Rimfire Steel matches if they didn't bring a rifle, or their gun fails too often.

Good luck in finding what you need.

As usual, I waited too long. The last time I got the itch to build a 10-22 kit, I came across a Zimmerman Arms kit, sort of like an AR, and a friend of mine passed who’s name was also Zimmerman but no relation, but I bought it anyway … I like it but I think I’d rather have the Tommy.
