The other link I saw for it was MSRP of 1530 Euros. That's way too much for just adding a chassis and a rail. Doubly so when it won't balance as is. If it had a heavier barrel I'd be interested.

I have been digging with all the popups , about the tikka t1x ace target. The price is
around $1568.00 to $1900.00
I have looked from east coast to middle america, and can't find yet showing a listing or distribution or dealers, or put in dealers hands.
The popups are terrible trying find out something maybe interested in.
I hope not like the upr's .
I was really excited about sako quad range rifle. They were like
pepe la pooh , "you have got to be quick" I did some checking they are not discontinued but are going to make available as the quad range and a complete set of barrels, the
17hmr, 17m2, 22 magnum, and
22 long rifle. , with each quad action.
Those pop ups are like telemarketers.

I didn’t think they will sell many at that price. Maybe if they had a heavier and longer barrel, but not just the T1x MTR barreled action in a chassis.

 

Got an e-mail today and went to Tikka website. What I saw was a T1X action in a expensive chassis, available with 16” or 20” threaded barrel. Not much more detail than that. Several variations were listed but no details to make comparisons.

 

I am not a chassis user so my opinion may be flawed. There is a youtube video posted by Tikka that shows all of the details of the chassis. It seems to be a well thought out design, easily adjustable, of the chassis I have seen it appears to have every feature a person could want.

But at that price it should be.

Wish they'd done a heavier barrel, the standard weight MTR barrel isn't going to be heavy enough for a fully fledged NRL rifle.

 

I got an email from eurooptic, showing them available for backorder$1,549.

 

So it's a ~$1000 chassis which isn't the worst.

I do wish they had gone to a larger barrel contour with it though.

 

They can keep it as far as I'm concerned for that price.

 

’Bean counters’ making decisions again. They missed the boat by not offering this model with a heavy barrel, short for suppressor use and long for the rest of us. Appears to similar to UPR to me.

There is a big difference in weight between the 3 available models. Could not get it to fit on 1 post . I am guessing the new Ace has a heavier barrel. Or the chassis is very heavy????

 

Barrel looks the same to me in pics on their site, but you’re right that chassis must be heavy.

 

2.5# difference from the rather light stock really isn't heavy at all.

 

Most chassis of a similar construction (MDT ACC, KRG W3, etc) are all around 4lb+, factory stock is less than 2lb so numbers all check out.

 

They certainly charge a high price for those stocks. My 20"T1x Is in a KRG Bravo stock, it works well for me.
