Acquired by Greg Ritz. It will be interesting to see where the focus is. I'm guessing muzzleloaders to start but we'll see.

I've talked with Marty at Haus of Arms a good bit about this development. He seems to be in the loop on a lot of it. The patents have lapsed on the original Contender design or something like that so SSK can continue making the frames. T/C will likely concentrate on the Encore since that was by far more popular than the Contender or G2 platform. It's not apparent that they'll produce the G2 but that would be the only version of the Contender that would have any place in the line-up. I would assume that they'd offer Contender barrels because the set-up to make them would be similar enough to Encore production but who knows. it'll be interesting to see whether there'll be emphasis on traditional bolt-actions or black powder rifles as well as the Encores. So, where does this leave SSK making the “new” Contender frames?
Underfunded investors, vs Smith & Wesson's capital. What could go wrong?.. Gregg something or other is the new owner along with 2 investors. THAT IS GREAT NEWS.
How does that differ from any other successful business? That is what he should be doing. But to your point, what is reintroduced might not be anything we are excited about. Before anyone gets too excited, just remember that Ritz was the guy who sold TC to S&W in the first place. He's a business man. Whatever he does or does not reintroduce will be motivated by profit and current markets. He's not buying TC back out of nostalgia.
