Those aren't my pics, jut some stuff I grabbed off the web!

We did go down the river yesterday, and had a great time. I did get flipped over in some pretty fast water though. My raft was facing up river when I was pushed into a ledge (wall) The strong current got under my raft and flipped me, The water was very fast and deep, so I got pushed under and rolled around some, getting bounced and dragged along the rocky bottom for a bit before I could surface.

I was able to grab on to my BILs raft and hang on until the waters calmed down a bit and I was able to get back into a raft. I got banged up a bit, but was wearing a back brace so don't think I did any serious damage to my spine or surgery site. Very sore this morning though!

We may go down the river again today. We shall see!

Y'all have a great day!

Saildesigh .....4" bull barrel that's huge
4" is all it needs**.... Best little open-sight gun I have.

BUT - it did not like SK Pistol Match as much as I had hoped. Next test bed is the Mk IV Target. If THAT doesn't like it then I have yet another year's supply for the Single Six.

** but Yeah- I knew what you meant. :D

Whizzed every hr during the nite with a swollen prostate that won't let me empty more than 1/3-1/2 of the bladder. Drinking lotsa water, lots.

Perhaps Al should get himself to the ER. It's right down the block.
.
Shack's 36mi from my primary home ER Don.
Fever n chills ceased but still has headaches and Splatzlike feeling of messing with Volvos and then pulled thru a .17" bore. Tired.

Most of the hospital's MDs etc. take the weekend off here in this 2 bit new hospital that shorted themselves 180 parking spots. Tis why most able folks head for WI for treatment @ Mayo or wherever.

Much later than my usual time, wanted to get the cars washed early.

Two thirds of an inch of rain yesterday over several hours starting around 1100.

Worked on the farm earlier in the day, help the boss dig potato's and some other work in the garden, pushed the old M back into the shed as it didn't want to start. Got two rounds in cutting the set aside ground before the rain. But we need it and could use plenty more.

A few other things today, then time to rest. Wife cooked a ham yesterday, leftovers for dinner.

Have a good rest of your Sunday.

84° this morning @ 10 A, RH 70%, wind S 15 G 24 under sunny skies. Going to 97 later for another sweltering day. We're back into one of those normal for August heats where the lows are in the 80's and the humidity is high with fast moving herds of clouds moving thru and not bothering w/flat rocks.

Retired early last evening, close to 10 P and then was wide awake at 3 A, seeing Don's post around 5 something about being headed to the range and the breakfast he gonna cook in the Mayor's honor for the other swamp rats that show up in time to partake. Went back to bed then and managed to sleep very soundly until 9:45. Bride is shuffling about in the kitchen fixin' us a killer 'Murican breakfast of bacon, fried eggs in bacon grease and oven broiled toast whacked on the diagonal w/two thin pats of salted butter on ea. 'Signature Roast' Community© coffee is hitting the spot, meantime. Feeling really good this morning and seeing well as well, so may slip out in the early afternoon's heat and do some more shooting. Powder pigeon, most likely. Don't have to do much moving around for that, so can last a bit longer before the heat becomes a factor and stops me. Three boxes is usually about my limit in triple digit heat indices.

One of the guys on my sporty clays league squad just bought a new Can Am 4-wheeler, so he is bringing it Wednesday for us to ride around in. In the late afternoon triple digit heat being experienced, can't say as I will object in the least. Last Wednesday was a no sporty clays league shooting day, as it turned out, so we're still in second place by a single point/w two weeks to go. My squad mates are really cranked up to win! I hope that we do. I've been able to 'cover' on all but one box thru the first four weeks and only left a half a target on that one. Big fun for us, shooting together as we do. :bthumb:

Sitting here w/a small amount of residual sinus congestion this morning whilst the bride cooks. Hope that clears/diminishes as the morning progresses.

Like your roses, Maim! They are really pretty! :bthumb:

Prayers that all here confronted w/life's issues have a better week on/in the fore.

I am being summoned. :) Later.

Ridden along the Ocoee and watched the release and the kayakers tackling it couple of times. Look it up in advance, pick up a decent lunch to-go, and head to one of the overlooks. Scenery and roads aren't much in that part of the state, compared to further East when you get up into the hills. Too much highway.

One of my favorite day rides used to be up to Telico, pick up a pig-tater from Krambonz, ride an hour up onto the Cherahola to a scenic picnic spot, then head over to the Dragon for a run up and back, then down past Fontana and back to GA. About 400 miles. Fun times.

Kids are coming over for dinner tonight. My wife asked me what I wanted for the birthday meal. Told her skirt steak. She just got back from the store and it was $21 a pound. Tomahawk was $14 lb. she got the skirt steak. Good girl. I remember when skirt steak was a garbage meat for next to nothing. Prefer skirt over flank.

I had a 16 oz NY strip last night. It was a bit too much. Took a little home for a steak salad later this week. I never order the fillet as it’s boring with little taste. My wife can’t digest meat so I can’t split a porterhouse for two which I prefer. If I’m with my buddy, we can split the porterhouse and a two pound lobster. Now that’s livin’ . Then you have to pay for it with a 30 minute hard spin.

House dusted and vacuumed. Second coat of spackle on the ceiling complete. Now I have to spin off my meal from last night.

Spent the warm, sunny (but nice :)) morning at the Unadilla outdoor gun show/flea market. :yippee: Two years since the last one thanks to the Wuhan lab germ.

It was great and saw a lot of acquaintances I hadn't seen in a while too; it was nice to catch up. Didn't buy (or sell) any guns, but made three good purchases totaling $50 - an unopened box of Speer 40gr. .223 softpoints for $5, a mostly full can of Winchester 630 powder (long out of production and great in a wide range of older cartridges) again for $5, and-a "near brick" (9 boxes) of Federal Gold Medal Target (711B) ammo for $40 (=less than $4.50/box). :)

Who needs Walsmart?
