Howdy Rock!

Hoping to get a few things accomplished today. I need to take the tires/rims off my trailer and get them replaced. It's a small trailer, but need it to get my lawn tractor to the fix-it shop for maintenance, and also to pick up loam, lumber, etc. I used to put a lot of stuff like that right in the back of my old 4-Runner, but the new one is still, well, new and I don't want to mess it up just yet!

I can pull my trailer with either the 4-Runner or my jeep.

Also want to build a new raised bed herb planter for my ex gal. I went over there yesterday to see if her old one was salvageable. It is not. It was a cheaply made import that rotted away to nothing in a year. I will build a new one with a wood or steel frame.

Howdy Al!

Winter was hanging on by its icicle fingers last week, but spring is making a strong takeover! Still pretty windy and cloudy, but yesterday the sun broke through! It will get to 52° here! Warm enough to get some outside work done!

Are you in Germany? :)

You been to the Shang Hai zoo lately Rhody? That guy looks like it owns the place.

Debating taking a spin to see if there's any limbs growing out of the fish shack roof and maybe wet a line off the bridge if the snow banks permit. Snow's always deeper there because.... they get more snow. :D

I was looking for a TWH opening camel and that one stood out amongst the pics. I recall hearing that they have a camel beauty pageant over in Saudi Arabia.

Apparently they take camel beauty very seriously!

More than 40 camels have been disqualified from Saudi Arabia's beauty pageant for receiving Botox injections and other cosmetic enhancements.

The contest is a highlight of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, where $66m (£45m) in prize money is at stake.

I tried raising chickens a few years ago with very poor results.

I don't know if I planted them too deep or too far apart.

Just takes a few cups of coffee to become awake from discombobulating. Words letters all there in some random order.

Party barge fishing for Lakers on Huron. Get n Um. Had a boss from Alabama that thought it was just fine to go twelve miles out in Lake Michigan with his little pontoon boat. Coast Guard stopped him and told him no more of that. No common sense.

"Helped" with some of the yard work yesterday. Hope that's it for my good deed this weekend.

We've been working our way through a list of things that have needed getting done. Had my daughters gardener out last Saturday to trim the two Magnolia trees in our yard. They were well over 15'. It cost us $400 but to me it was worth it. Think we're at that stage in life where I don't think it's worth risking life and limb trying to wrestle down branches about a foot in diameter. From here we will keep watch over those two trees and trim them ourselves, but it just seemed to risky taking them on when so overgrown. The gardener and his helper trimmed them back, hauled everything away, done and over with before noon. Pricey but well worth it.

Been enjoying shooting my Remington 581. Groups nice with bulk ammo. Thinking today might be a good day to bring the Remington 572 to the range. Kind of have a fondness for the solid Big Green rimfires.

I changed the oil this morning. Once again I forgot to bring the new oil inside to warm up over night. Oh well. It was cold in the garage.

I made it up the ramps in one try. I was prepared to set the rear brakes and lift each wheel with my floor jack and insert the ramp. I sure hate taking that under body cover off each time though It is nice to see a clean engine at 88,000 miles living in snow country.

Took the car for a spin to get some groceries and get out of the house. My receipt claims I saved more than I spent on gasoline. Truth is I seldom buy at the normal price, I buy during the periodic 'sales', I just have to buy 3-4 weeks worth of the item.

Looked at the expiry date on some hotdog buns I bought. Good until 4/14? Maybe that is true as I freeze them as soon as I bring them home.

Driveway is getting pretty soft. I'm counting on a freeze tonight so I can exit in the morning.

TD, I hope your neighbor's landscaper doesn't plant some clinging vines next to your fence.

Range date consisted of the "standing-up rifle" - a Winchester 1885 in 22LR - and the little Police Positive because it started griping that it hadn't been to the range for a LONG time...

Poor little thing just turned 100 this year, according to its Colt Letter. It was shipped to the Winchester Store in Providence, RI on Feb 24th, 1922, although a search of serial numbers online puts it as manufactured in 1919. I'm using the shipping date because that has been verified. :)

It's kinda funny. I keep running into hotdog toasters at the thrift stores. It is like the mayor is saying hi.

Just did a live 20 minute rock spin. Four of us online, me, a 50 year old, a 40 year old and a 30 year old. The 50 year old blew us away. I came in 3rd and beat the 40 year old by 2 output points, tough gal she was, hung tight with me the whole ride, maybe I should say I hung tight with her.

Blew through all 4 seasons of Yellowstone. Think I’ll be forced to pay for 1883. I like Sam Elliot and Faith Hill even though the make her a bit weathered. She had some set of sticks when she did the Monday night football opener. Yowza!
