And last, grand slam D.

Dropped the Finn off at a Finn gift store so she could buy her once again cancer stricken brother some shirts, hat etc. gifts whilst I was 5th in line at the truck wash. No call to come n get me so I went to the store and hollered gently just inside the door, "Your uber driver is here ma'am." She was the only customer in the store outside of town.
Managed to get the Ram home w/o getting re-salted with only one melting snow/salt river across the road where I slowed down to 10 in a 25 @ 45˚.

Howdy dlong!

Thanks for the traveling reports, Don! :bthumb:

It was, as y'all might have guessed, a wild and wooly night last night. Got home around 2 am and slept until 11:30 am!

Thankfully I did not electrocute myself yesterday! The power is back up in the garage. :bthumb:

Still have to get the garage door motor replaced. I'm thinking about doing it myself. I still have a few phone calls to make before I decide.

In

Took a dip to a 45* high for today. Then back to 50's and 60's the rest of the week, so they say. Grass is hinting green.

Finished 1883 last night.

Great pictures Don :bthumb:

Gonna rake out the backyard today and put down some Scott’s 3 in 1 fertilizer. Maybe do the front yard next week. There was a time I could do the whole yard in a day. Baby steps now.

First day of the week and first post for me. :)

Love that sunrise pic of your truck Don. Glad to see you're able to enjoy all the work that you put into it getting it set up for your adventures.

Going to head out and enjoy this warm sunshiny day. Y'all have a good one!!!

In.

Nice clear blue skies today. Temperature a couple points above freezing. The roads to the store were treacherous. Every spot that was shaded had clear ice on it, the sunny spots were fine, the rain washed away all sand and salt. I drove the back way really, really slow and no one was on my tailpipe. I took main roads coming home.

Can's of no sugar added fruit went from 1.89 to 2.29 overnight. I dread visiting the grocers anymore. Got out cheap as I only picked up things I couldn't get at Walmart yesterday.

Played with my new astro camera. I had to search for the field flattener that it will screw onto. It was right next to my desk is a box of stuff. I found it after searching the garage.

I powered up the camera, it sees light and dark and the chip cooler cools. I'll attach it to the telescope once it is warmer in the garage to capture some images.

In! And on a beauuuutiful day as well.

Currently outside temps are at 63, heating is off, and the sun is out.

Range morning went well - Walther PPK/S in .22, and Berretta 81 in 32ACP were exercised. Neither is inherently accurate, so I just had fun making sure I stayed on the target and patterned better than a shotgun.

Roads to and from were clear and fun - can't ask for anything more.

Backyard raked out and fertilized. Save the front for another day. 3 barrels of yard waste on the curb for pickup tomorrow. Same old bare spots will need to be seeded. Same drill every year.

Wes, I doubt I'll put ape hangers on the Schwinn frame. Probably won't do a complete restoration, more of a restormod. Frame has already been painted, and to correct that to original style, colors, and quality along with tracking down all the correct original parts would be a very expensive rabbit hole. Still I'd like to use as many Schwinn correct era parts as I find reasonably to me possible, though it might end up more of a rat bike. I doubt that I'll use a the skiptooth chain and sprocket set up that would be correct for the early 50s. Probably go with the more recent 1/2 x 1/8 chain, crank, and sprocket; however there are conversion bottom bracket kits available to convert the BB to the modern English standard. The idea is to get a rideable roller with a straight bar frame. Could also convert to lighter a lighter alloy fork, stem, handle bar system with allow wheels. These old tanks were heavy. Near as I can tell the frame would be from a '53 Panther or Hornet. Have a handlebar stem coming that I believe is correct.

Couple links to old Panthers and Hornets.

While cleaning a layer off my desk I found the local land line phone book. Covers many exchanges that the company serves but my exchange is 6 printed pages. I have a feeling cell phones greatly outnumber land lines. I scanned the pages for fossils like me.

Will you try to fit a 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub? I see that they are still in business. I had a Schwinn 3 speed bike I used to deliver newspapers. Stolen at school. It was green metal flake. I paid for it myself. Where is that voodoo doll link, I need to do some stabbing. I hope the cretin that stole it had a miserable life.

Are any of these what you need Rhody? Spotted them while in True Value today...

I got some conduit to bury my RG8X coax from my antenna into the house...out here digging a trench now

Sent from my motorola one 5G UW ace using Tapatalk
Conduit is a good idea. Not sure what it costs now but it was fairly cheap the last time I buried some. Being able to pull a defective or suspect cable w/o digging is so nice. Not to mention protecting the cable from burrowing critters.

Range Day this morning.150 rsds thru the CZ455V,10 thru the 457 .22 Mag to confirm "0". It was a bit windy, once a gust blew off my hat. We decided to call it a day after that .
SHhhh. the wife is doing our taxes.

The house and barn at the end of our road had crime scene tape and fencing put up on another access road.Duepty Sheriff and several other police vehicles were parked around. No rescue squad was seen. Older woman lives there {not as old as I) with her cats & dogs. Was a heavy drinker but cleaned up her act in the past years. Dont know if any foul play was involved, yet.
