Was a lot easier than I thought, just took a deep socket that was the same size as the barrel shroud, wrapped it with some sandpaper and sanded away at the front of the stock with the insert removed.

Then I marked where the shroud began and chopped off the appropriate length on the insert.

The barrel no longer has that ledge on the insert that contacted the barrel so I think it's pretty much free floated now. Haven't shot it yet so I don't know what it'll do vs the Hogue stock it replaced which was accurate enough for me at an inch or less at 50 yards with Mini Mags.

(First post, yay)

Just got my barrel in yesterday, had my X-22 stock already. I looked the barrel over and seen what I thought was lint in the barrel and then started to tackle the inletting the stock so the barrel will fit. I could not finish, it was not going as planned and had to regroup to today.

Go her finished up with a Dremel tool. I tried the socket thing but was not working very well at all for me anyway.

So now I got it cleaned up and tools put away, I remembered I better run a patch or two in the barrel. I had a hard go of it get it to take the rod and patch, seemed like it was sticking. After dorking around with what should have been quick, I took a look down the barrel and was still seeing that "what I thought was lint" ring in about 1" to 1 1/2" from the tip of the barrel. I was even thinking maybe a bad weld or something.

Picture of it together (not done with inletting) and a best as I can zoomed in pic of the burr in the barrel.

I'll post in the aftermarket barrel section on what to do about this issue. Was loooooooking so forward to shoot this setup.
