If red box tac22 is just reboxed black box tac22, then why the price difference? Norma charges 7.00 more per brick for the black box.
is it really the same? what do you think ?

I paid 8 cents less for brick of red box than a brick of black box direct from Norma.

 

Good question; maybe it's because the black box says it's "High Performance Target" and the red isn't....

 

The black box photo of the rear sight assembly appears to be backwards, or is it just me?

the price different could be the different is the speed between the two. the red box is 1,083 fps and the black box is 1,100 fps. so the red box is standard velocity and the black box is high velocity.

 

isn’t above 1050 considered HV ? Therefore technically they are both hv. Just asking.

 

I shot black box 7-8 yrs ago and really liked it. My comparisons are by no means fair, or complete, but if I am buying ammo for cost savings, I'll take SV all day, for no other reason than the excessive lube on new Tac 22.

 

Interestingly, the red box is the small 50 round packaging, while the black box is the larger 500 round brick packaging. Also, the black box is Norma USA, while the red is just labelled Norma.

Wonder if the black box is newly manufactured or just remaining inventory? Not much info explaining the differences between the two.

Beretta Holding took over 100% from RUAG Ammotec July 31st 2022. Norma ("USA") was dropped. Norma Precision replaced it. The Black to Red box switch came after Beretta's acquisition.

Beretta has said they want to increase sales of the Norma brand in the U.S. I suppose they want to create a well-known name (with increased sales).

Beretta also invested 60 million in Savanna Georgia, a new manufacturing/distribution facility (Norma's been producing centerfire, here in U.S. for 10 years). Not sure rimfire will be produced in Savanna, although it is certainly possible that one day it will be produced.

Me too! No doubt something strange is going on.
I have 3 bricks of Tac from around 2017 that are black, as are the individual boxes inside. Every brick (about 6) of Tac that I have ordered in 2022 have been red with red boxes inside.

I saw PSA showing their brick Tac in a black box and just assumed they used an old photo. When I ordered, it was in a red box.

 

Been a minute but the last case of TAC22 I bought was Black boxed, back in May of this year, it shot very well in early testing.
