T1X practice day

I bought a T1X to compete at informal club 22 matches. They are held once a month and the targets and distance can vary.
It has been windy here for the past couple of week so today while the wind has slacked off a little I got some practice in for the next match. It was a light rain but very little wind, after about 150 rounds of Tac22 I was going to call it a day. I had several good groups with the Tac 22, one group of .247, and a few groups that where as Homer would say DOH. Shooting off a rest with rear bag I was trying different grip pressures and shoulder contact. Toward the end I was getting better and more consistent groups. After cleaning up and before I put my rifle back in the safe I noticed the wind had completely stopped. I quickly put up 3 targets as I had 15 rounds of SK Standard + left out of my last box.
I shot the first 2 groups with the wind calm, by group 3 the wind had started to swirl a bit but it was light. I didn't allow for the wind just held on the dot.
I don't think anybody has told my Tikka that it is a cheap rifle. For a factory barrel and chamber, 28 oz factory trigger, and what some call a flimsy plastic stock, it does very well for itself.

I have zero qualms with anyone who wishes to modify their rifle how they please. I do it myself. . .BUT, for an out of the box rig, the T1x is really, really good.

Nice shooting !!
My T1x 22 LR groups the SK std plus like your first two groups, it absolutely loves it. Mine groups Norma TAC and CCI std Vel about like your third group - sub 1/2" but a little raggedy.
For a box stock rifle with nothing but a trigger spring change it is amazingly accurate, I have owned a lot of 22's that cost a lot more than the T1 and did not group nearly as well. Every time I shoot it it makes me wonder why bother owning other 22's.

Very impressive shooting. A stock T1x can hammer with good ammunition.

I did a trigger spring change to net 1lb pull. Had my T1X (along with my B14r) over to the Lapua test tunnel last week. The Tikka shot the .37” 20 shot group (below) at 50m and I managed to win the Factory ARA match in Phoenix last weekend with 4x 2450’s...in very windy conditions Saturday.

I've really enjoyed my tikka17hmr. I shoot groundhogs with it rarely paper. I think I have about 80 1 shot one kills. Never missed actually. Meoptasport 3-15x50rd illuminated target dot. DIP bottom metal anschutz trigger shoe. DIP bolt handle, victor cheek riser. DIP 25moa rail, warne rings, flat front module, vertical pistol grip. Shooter.
Very useful for varmint control! Nice rifle, good shooting!

There was a kid in Young Gun class NRL22 who won nationals with a Tikka T1X. I believe he tested a few factory barrels and installed the best one thereby keeping the gun in factory configuration. The next year with the same rifle he aged out of young guns and won Base class. The following year he changed optics putting the rifle in Open class and he won that.

He did change the barrel but it was still a factory Tikka T1X barrel.

Looks good to me. I’ve been trying SK pistol match, standard plus and rifle match. They do good on some groups and then just fall apart. Eley SABP, Team and Match are tack driver ammo out of it. The TAC 22 lot I have does really well too. I hope the SK is just bad lots. I would prefer it shot more flavors well. So far Center X is hit and miss.
