I bought a T1X to compete at informal club 22 matches. They are held once a month and the targets and distance can vary.
It has been windy here for the past couple of week so today while the wind has slacked off a little I got some practice in for the next match. It was a light rain but very little wind, after about 150 rounds of Tac22 I was going to call it a day. I had several good groups with the Tac 22, one group of .247, and a few groups that where as Homer would say DOH. Shooting off a rest with rear bag I was trying different grip pressures and shoulder contact. Toward the end I was getting better and more consistent groups. After cleaning up and before I put my rifle back in the safe I noticed the wind had completely stopped. I quickly put up 3 targets as I had 15 rounds of SK Standard + left out of my last box.
I shot the first 2 groups with the wind calm, by group 3 the wind had started to swirl a bit but it was light. I didn't allow for the wind just held on the dot.
I don't think anybody has told my Tikka that it is a cheap rifle. For a factory barrel and chamber, 28 oz factory trigger, and what some call a flimsy plastic stock, it does very well for itself.
