I have been thinking about this project for a while, and finally got around to having the barrel threaded today. I'm looking forward to trying her out quietly next time at the range.

Next in line for this mod is one of my Grade II Belgians.....just kidding!

Semi-autos generally don't suppress quite as well as bolt actions for example, but with the bottom eject, the SA-22 should be pretty decent.

This particular rifle that I bought brand new is still a little finicky with both subsonic and HV ammo, and I am hoping that after a higher round count it will continue to improve reliability wise. Suppressed subsonic should provide a good balance of blowback pressure, and with it being suppressed I will be able to put even more rounds through it. The majority of the firearms that both my shooting partner and I typically bring to the rifle range are suppressed, so we are quite often operating without ear pro until we need the line to go "loud" versus "quiet".

I did a search on integrally suppressed SA-22s, and came across a vid of one from ARMTAC. When I checked their website, I couldn't find the product though, so maybe they only prototyped it without going into full production?

The suppressed SA-22 ran really great today. It was quite windy for rimfire, but still an awful lot of fun, and nice to not need ear pro.

As I was hoping would be the case, suppressed subsonic was more reliable than either subsonic or HV unsuppressed...sort of a Goldilocks type thing.

I have only found one problem so far; this carbine is hungry! I ran through nearly a brick before I realized it.

SC-Texas will hopefully post the vid before too many days pass.
