Stoeger Luger magazine... looking for one

My brother just gave me a .22 Stoeger Luger that shoots well but desperately needs a replacement magazine. Anyone have any ideas about where is the best place to hopefully find one? Thanks

i think original mags bring a hefty price, but i`v heard they are the most reliable. i saw some on gunbroker awhile back in the 60$ price range. you might try hoosier gun works s he has quite a few hard to find items. does your mag have a green follower?

No, mine has a white follower. Hoosier gun works shows a couple but they are listed as "Stoeger/Navy Arms 22 LR Luger". Looks like my magazine, but any idea as to whether it's different than other Stoeger Luger 22s?

Bought one from Triple K, couple of years ago. It functioned and fed OK. But I don't recall if it locked the bolt back, after firing the 10th round? I know one of my original Stoeger mags, won't. But I just don't remember, if the Triple K has the same problem?

I have found that the Stoeger Lugers function best with hot 40 grain, round nose. bullets. Like Mini-Mag Solids. You might have better luck with your original mag using them.

The Stoger Luger hasn't been made since the mid 80's. Unless you really luck out and get a mag from someone who isn't knowledgeable. Likely a original mag will be quite pricy.

Google is always my first stop :bthumb: Unfortunately, led to a lot of disappointments. Took me to JLowes clips & magazines which says they're closed for a month, and Gun clip depot which says they're sold out. A few other disappointing leads... only one that seems to have one other than the overpriced ones on eBay (that I feel worried about their condition) are the ones on Triple K. I expect that I'll go with the Triple K and hope for the best although it still irks me to pay $49 for a blasted magazine that I'm sure they make for about $2. Ridiculous!!

Well, I spoke with Ed just now on the phone, so I think I'll go with him... seemed like a nice guy, thanks:bthumb:

OK, thanks... sounds to me like the black plastic bottom with white follower must be the original and the aluminum with green follower is aftermarket... we'll see what my aftermarket one looks like when I get it. I'm getting it from GC Gun Clips. Thanks, guys

For what it's worth, I have a NIB Stoeger Luger from January 1979 and I think it is 2nd generation as the box shows checkered grips and mine has smooth walnut grips. Anyway the magazine has a black plastic bottom with a white plastic follower.
