anyone have a problem after taking the action out of the stock and putting it back in? My groups opened up after installed the VQ sear. Trigger is wonderful but now the groups are not as good as they were out of the box. I cleaned this thing with sweets so I know it is not copper.

Ruger gave me the specs and I torqued the bolts per the specs. I thought 60 in lbs for a wood stock was a bit high so I will start from scratch. Thanks
The inlet of a stock is rarely perfect and with torquing the screws that high, the wood will definitely compress (may even hear it creek a bit) and most likely cause stress. I would start around 20 inch pounds and shoot 2-5 shot groups to see how it does. I would increase by 5 inch pounds at a time and repeat to see if any difference is had.

I have used 40 inch lbs, as set by my Fat Wrench. The receiver and first 3 1/2 inches of the free floated barrel channel are glass bedded. I had to sand out more barrel channel to prevent changes in barrel/stock clearance when torqueing from 30 inch lbs to 40 inch lbs. I plan to range test various torque settings at the next session.
