Stock or chassis

I plan to replace my Scout stock and wanted to see what your preferences are? I plan to punch paper and occasional critter(s). Did anyone here go aftermarket and went back to factory stock?

I personally prefer stocks. I didn't do any chassis for the CZ, but I did have an MPA (Matrix Pro) and MDT (ACC) for my Vudoo. I ended up not really liking either. Around the same time I found a Manners VPT MTR stock on the market place and picked that up for the CZ. After using that for a bit I just loved the feel. I quickly switched to Manners PRS-TCS stocks for both the Vudoo and Centerfire. If there was a Walnut stock with the features of the Manners I'd totally run that on the CZ though as I love the look.

Chassis are quite popular though for good reason. The feature set is pretty hard to beat and they can look really cool. Just something about nice stock that does it for me though and I'll get the extra mile to add the feature I want/need.

It’s been hard for me going back/back and forth from a chassis to a stock. Both the KRG Bravo and pdc leave your hand so much more full when you have proper trigger finger posture.

Shooting my varmint, not mtr, stock leaves my trigger hand feeling empty. I’d go with a chassis.

edit: I’m a lefty so the MTR isn’t in my cards

I have a LH 457 Varmint LH. While looking for a LH chassis I came across a VBS by Lost Nation LLC. Ethan sent me a pic of his set (see below) up which I ordered. Must be good enough to put a $1K Proof Research barrel in it. He is building mine this week.
BTW I did put a match barrel on mine.

Bear in mind the chassis has a downside, It get real cold in winter and real hot if your out in the sun in summer. You can paint them a lighter color to mitigate the heat but they still get cold in winter. Also some CZ wood stocks don't take a bipod with the sling loop type swivels. I have both and still cant decide which I prefer.

It's quite possible that if I knew more about shooting and was a better trained rifleman, I'd prefer a stock.
As is, I'm a self-taught doofus who can (just barely use) hex wrenches and torx drivers without hurting himself.
So, I like a chassis for ease of adjustment. It works for the way I shoot & the games that I shoot. So I carry happily (and probably ignorantly) onward.
I like the MDT Oryx for the price, especially when I grab 'em during the annual Black Friday sale.
Give me an Oryx, one of their full-length Arca rails up front and an Australian Tactical Precision bag rider on the back, and I'm generally good to go.
Top that bad boy with an Area 419 rail, some Nikon Precision Matched rings and a little sumpin' from Sightron, and I'm generally happy as all get-out.

I have the Field Stock for my 10/22. For the price, it's a great stock. I think the XRS is a bit better as far as features go if you're willing to spend the little bit extra. KRG Bravo seems great, but I don't own one. Main reason I never got one was because of how expensive they get once you start adding all the accessories.

I pulled the trigger last night and ordered an MDT XRS from Brownells. I had a discount code for 15% off my total order. I also ordered a Timney trigger instead of going with the spring kits. I found a used Varmint barrel a while back on E-Bay, so I will pull my Scout barrel out and give it a try with several brands and weights before going custom barrel route.

For those who have had both- does a chassis or non-wood stock make for better accuracy than a CZ varmint wood stock?
I bought a LH CZ457 varmint in December and its accurcy is pretty poor. Especially as compared to my Bergara B14R. Already did a barrel replacement (IBI) and no change.
So I'm wondering if I invested in a chassis, probably PDC being LH, would that improve accuracy?
I shoot almost exclusively 100 yard off bench.
