There's no question that the mag release could use some improvement! I find it needs to be a very deliberate action before it lets go. The mag releases on my Buckmark, S&W 41s and CZs are much better. I'm surprised that the after-market crowd hasn't jumped on this yet. (Or maybe someone has and I haven't seen it yet?)

I like it just fine. Easier than on my Buckmark Hunter (which has rather fat cocobolo grips). I'm not expecting it to be combat-fast, though.

 

I don't have any trouble with the mag release, but I noticed that my g/f was last time we went to the range. Extending the head out 1/8th inch would help a lot.

 

In SOME cases that would help many who've purchased an SR22. I tried that opposite (right side) involved with the SR22 mag release (because it's of the ambi style) , and that does work well, but it goes against what's normal for a rightie. Most want to hit that button on the left side and have the empty mag go away, and then install a fresh magazine to do what's needed to do. I still think that I'll concentrate on some sort of extention that will aid those of us with FAT fingers.

 

I find it easier to press from the right side with my middle finger, rather than press with my thUmb on the left side.

I would love an extension to the mag release. I have fairly large mitts and several times have had trouble fully depressing the mag release. A little extension would sure be nice :bthumb:
