Beautiful stocks:love: I hope the weather allows you to get in a few more hunts.
We have to the end of the month before squirrel season ends but the weather may not cooperate. It has been a good season up here in Northern Ohio.
I just finished up a new stock build on a CZ457 and am anxious to get it dialed in and get a hunt in with it but not sure the weather is gonna give me a chance.
I built a stock for my CZ452 Super Exclusive last winter and did manage to get it out on a couple of hunts. I take a different rifle nearly every hunt but I couldn't resist using the 452 a couple times. I still hope to try the 457 out before the end of the month , but we will see.
Here is the 452 getting it done earlier this season.

Here is a few pics of the 457 I just finished. It was a great shooting rifle before I built the stock so I am hopeful it is still a great shooter in its new configuration.

It now sports the Burris that was on the 452 and the 452 now sports a Leupold so both need dialed back in. Here they are together. Gives an idea how long the 452 super exclusive is.

Do you have Grey's in your area..?
There are some greys but not a lot. The most greys I see around this area are actually in towns. The little towns in the area are full of black and grey squirrels. We get maybe one or two greys per season. I saw two this season and heard 2 but no shots were taken.

I went squirrel hunting yesterday and sat by my truck gate with my rifle. Being laid up after surgery is no fun and I just had to get out.
This is also the last week of our squirrel hunting season,😢
I spotted a couple of grays chasing each other but they quickly vanished and not admitting defeat, I kept eyeballing the thick brush and trees.

I spotted movement in the brush and my rifle scope showed a cottontail rabbit nibbling and hopping around in the brush at about 30 yards distance.

As it moved to a clear shot with my crosshairs centered on the rabbit head, I squeezed the trigger.

My .17 WSM 20gr bullet did its job with a bit of what some folks consider overkill. Score, one headless rabbit.
It also initiated my new rifle, my Savage A17 .17 WSM.:yippee:

Happy ending and testament to patience and the grace of God
