This Philipino brand, Squire & Bingham, is new to me. The bolt rimfire looks semi-decent, but not more than that. Anyone here have experience as to reliability, durability or accuracy? I see they have had both 22lr and 22 WMR in bolt rifles. Looks like some brought into US are marked KASSNAR also.

I had a S/B semi-auto years ago. I think I paid about $49.00 for it at K-Mart. Not a bad rifle really. It was reasonably reliable, and about as accurate as I would be expect any 22 to be out of the box, especially a cheap one. It would string the groups vertically as the barrel heated up but that's about all I can say bad about it. It was a pretty nice looking rifle, and had a good heft to it. I didn't like the 15 round straight stack magazine. It was long and dug into my back when the rifle was slung.

AFAIK, my son still has it.

I'm sorry I can't help you with anything on their new ones and I doubt that my reply is much help at all. Actually I didn't even know they were still around.

I had one of their M16 look alikes, with a full wood stock. Worked ok. My friend has had one for a good 15 years that was similar, M16 style but with a collapsable butt stock. His is scoped and still going strong after a tremendous amount of ammo going through it. I'd say they are ok guns if your expectations are for something that operates properly most of the time and has reasonable accuracy. They are no CZ's, but they are about on par with most $150 semi autos. Cycled properly with most ammo, but not all. I remember when they used to sell the Kassnars and they also had an Ak-47 look alike that was actually prohibited in our country. All the same gun.

here in australia they are known as stirling rifles, i have owned a few over the years, bolt, semi auto, and .22 mag. they are just about indestructable, and while some have shot better than others, none have shot what i would consider badly. they are on a par with the norinco cz copy and the russian toz 17, reasonably priced working guns, hope this helps.

In january, I took the family to the big annual gun show in this neck of the woods. While perusing from table to table searching for factory 10/22 magazines, I stumbled upon an Armscor AK-22. It was built by the same company, Squires Binham co. in the Philipinnes. I was skeptical about purchasing it, but my son desperately had to have it. It cost me 50 bucks plus two hours on the internet to locate the broke/missing parts to get it shooting. Twenty six dollars and two weeks latter, It was finished. I must admit it shot well, but it only likes certain types of ammo. There a a few naysayers on this site that are negative about this brand, so I will invite them to go shooting with me anytime to attempt changing their minds. Good luck.

I began my search with Numrich gun parts corp. They have a whole lot of parts for just about everything. Where I actually found a complete trigger group was in gunbroker. I got lucky; there was a guy in the same state I'm in that was parting out a .22 wooden stocked semi auto ( not sure of the model#) Armscor rifle. If you PM me with a photo of your bolt, I can see if it matches my extra bolt. There is a gentleman on this site that has the screen name "squires Bingham" , he is quite knowledgeable concerning Armscor rifles. You can look him up in the member directory. I bet he has already read everything we have typed.

Howdy! I just read this.
Yeah, my first rifle ever bought was a Squires and Bingham M-20D. I got it for something like $59 at L&G sporting goods in California many many years ago. I shot thousand upon thousands of rounds through the rifle and broke a firing pin along the way. Found anther pin and fired several thousands of round until the bolt siezed up and stopped working. Yes, they are cheaply made, but effective nevertheless. I currently own the later M-1600 version and like it very much. I can't seem to find any of the new offerings from Armscor and my local gunshop refused to order any for me. They say its too cheap.
Anyways, I am a big fan and would buy another M-20 if I could find one.

Mine are absolutely reliable and as good or better than my ruger 10/22 (when it gets dirty) my Squiers Bingham shoots dirty all day. I have two. Look at remington 550-1. This gun was almost directly copied from Remingtons first model .22s
Anyways, if you have the correct mags (mine are original 15rounders) and shoot long rifle rounds, I've never had any problems after??? at least a thousand on my pickup gun.
