Spitfire barrel-before and after

Had a very strange experience recently. I had just built up a 10-22 around a Tandemkross Spitfire barrel. The other components: Brownells receiver, Ruger trigger group and bolt (both CPC reworked), laminated Ruger factory Sporter stock, Sparrow suppressor, and a Holosun red dot. My first 50 yd group, bench rested, Eley Team, was 12” plus. I wasn’t expecting match-grade accuracy but this had me thinking of sending the barrel right back. A day later, to give it another chance, I took off the Holosun and replaced it with a Vortex 5-25x and gave it another try, same bench, same distance, same ammo. This time: +/- 1/2” for five shots.

What a difference magnification makes. Glad I didn’t send it back.

Now im not saying youre wrong, so please dont take the following as meant to be offensive or that i think you're wrong, i dont have the rifle in my hands(obviously).heck i havnt even seen a picture of the rig.
If barrel contact is the issue i would imagine that would show up with a scope as well. if thats not the case then i would venture to say it was a bad day, but for S&G'S.. I put my red dots as far foward on the reciever as i can to increase the sight radius Idk where you mounted yours.

A Holosun 407C X2 comes with a 2 MOA dot in red or green. The picture you posted does not match the picture for the Holosun 407C on Holosun's website (HE407C-GR X2-Holosun). Part/model numbers don't match and your dot says "Outer Impact" on it.

You really should read the entire thread before commenting on the accuracy of the OP‘s photo. The OP stated in post #14 that he uses an Outer Impact mount. The optic is clearly marked HS407C X2. Accuracy matters. ;)

I would remove the suppressor, and check for anything touching when firing, or try firing without the suppressor. Something has to be touching with that grouping if sight proves to be ok. There are occasions whereby the suppressor is not installed in line with bore of barrel, and flyers occur. Just an observation from description.
