I decided to take out a home equity loan and buy a new fancy-dancy bolt knob for my 457. I searched and high low and landed on this one... McMaster-Carr

My expectations were super high given the $1.77 I spent on it (actually bought two in order to make the home equity loan worth it :) ). You know what, it works great. I'm convinced it was the general size and not the weight of the original that was it's shortfall.

Would this be allowed in ARA factory class? I'm going to read the rulebook as soon as I smash Post. Maybe I will figure it out before you finish your espresso.

8.4.1.4.8. Replacement of the following factory hardware is allowed: Bolt Knob, Butt Plate (see 8.4.1.4.5), Action Screws, load indicator, mag well, mag release, mag well cover.

Looks like I will have to star an application for a HELOC also.

You jest, but I am thinking of buying a new knob for my new Anschutz and it will probably cost a home equity loan. I changed the trigger guard. 😲
