Nice !!! I like it. Mine is a ball but that would have worked great. That Cz bolt ball is tiny and these bigger knobs feel great. Have you had a chance to get out and see how much better it is?

I haven't. My other 457 has a DIP knob on it and I liked the larger size. And since I was ordering from MMC anyway I thought I'd risk a few dollars.

 

I did the same thing. Bought 10 for 13.00 from MMC and now have a couple left. Can't tell them from Alum without tapping them with something metal.

 

Barnaby what stock and barrel do you have on your rifle? Nicely appearing combination...

 

Thanks, I ended up with a Richard's Microfit ('cause I like to create a lot of work for myself). It's a Varmint Master pattern without any vents. The barrel is one of the kickoff L3I barrels. It's a tank for sure. IIRC it weighs around 17lbs.

 

Been planning to put a big red one on mine.

Have a couple of hard rubber ones that came off Amazon but have never installed them as I've never had a problem with the stock ones...heck if you want a big bolt knob those serve the purpose.

 

I put a larger bolt knob on another rifle and it is much more enjoyable to use.

 

Would this be allowed in ARA factory class? I'm going to read the rulebook as soon as I smash Post. Maybe I will figure it out before you finish your espresso.

I decided to take out a home equity loan and buy a new fancy-dancy bolt knob for my 457. I searched and high low and landed on this one... McMaster-Carr

My expectations were super high given the $1.77 I spent on it (actually bought two in order to make the home equity loan worth it ). You know what, it works great. I'm convinced it was the general size and not the weight of the original that was it's shortfall.

Hows your Arken at high magnification? Is the center dot good for RF Benchrest?

 

I think the dot is too big at 35x for BR. Additionally I've generally used a SFP for BR.

 

It's Not the ideal BR scope. Way to heavy and clunky. It does do an fine job when tasked to that purpose.

You jest, but I am thinking of buying a new knob for my new Anschutz and it will probably cost a home equity loan. I changed the trigger guard. 😲

 

I agree the original knob is made for ants. I got the area 419 one and honestly transformed it for me.

 

I've been trying to find the package they came in and so far no luck.... I'll look some more.

 

OK I may have misspoke on the source. This looks like what I bought and sounds familiar. Check the size you need. I "think" it is M5 but check before you buy...
