Thanks for sharing. I don't know if I've seen those options, but only issue with them is the short forend. I just heard back from Sharps Bros and they said they can definitely swap out the 9 inch handguard for the 14 inch no problem and no up charge. I might just give it a try but was hoping someone could give some feedback on the quality. I've seen a review of the chassis for the Ruger America but not a very good sample size.

$400? yikes! PMACA seems like a far better deal, especially at half the price. You could have two different versions of the PMACA for the same price.

It's definitely not the cheapest option. But I've been looking for something I can use as a precision chassis that checks certain boxes. The two other options I've been considering are:

Kidd Precision Chassis (KIDD Precision Chassis-KIDD-22CHAS-PRCN) - $565.00

Grey Birch La Chassis 10/22 (La Chassis 10/22 (Chassis Body Only) + La Chassis 16" Forend) - $274.98
Still needs a butt stock though and more limited options unless I used a buffer tube conversion which I don't like the look of. However their folding buttstock isn't bad, looks pretty lightweight, and comes in at $250.

I have a 20 inch bull barrel and want a longer forend for shooting off barricades, longer rail for extending a bipod out, and M-Lok side rails for weights or other accessories. I also want something that had a feature to secure the back of the receiver (tang, pinch, or set screw). I currently have the MDT Oryx which I like, but it lacks the balance I'm looking for and has pretty much zero options for adding weight to the front (tested it and would need about 2 lbs up front due to the heavy butt).

I don't love the look of either the Kidd or Grey Birch, but they're not bad. But I figured if I can tick all the boxes and enjoy the look I'd be pretty happy. The Sharp Bros is definitely on the higher end of costs, but I do like that it has more options than the Grey Birch for butt stocks and has more coverage from the forend/handguard. I know I'll end up spending more if I go the Kidd or Sharp Bros route, but I could get exactly what I want in the long run.

I'm a big fan of the XLR C-6 Buttstock, but there are so many buffer tube stock options.

I know PDC Customs can inlet that KIDD tang provision on his chassis for free.

The 2 rimfire chassis systems that he does appear to have long forearms, albeit not cheap either..Looks heavy too.

Not my favorite looking chassis, but does check most of the boxes. I like that it has a weight kit (though interesting design on the forend for it). 4 lbs is definitely hefty, but no worse than the Oryx. Thanks for sharing and I'll keep it in mind as I keep flip flopping through options.

Any links? I tried looking and couldn't find anything. I watch the ones I could find but those were for the the Ruger America and Howa 1500. Nothing Rimfire aside from Sharps Bros' short video with the 10/22 and RPR.

I chatted with John Sharps via email last night and he said he actually saw this post. I have been very impressed with the level of customer service already before even purchasing. I know they're at Shot Show right now so after a full day of work at an event like that he was still answering my emails. That's some dedication that I can really respect. I've worked shows like that in the auto industry and it's exhausting.

Anyways, I think I'm pretty well sold on trying this chassis out. John confirmed the hole on the back top of the chassis is for a nylon tipped set screw to help secure the receiver (similar to the Grey Birch and some other stocks/chassis). I'm probably a month or so out from ordering as I still need to decide on a new receiver (replacing the Faxon one) and have to wait for the XLR C-6 Buttstock to come back in stock.

I'll post a new thread with a full review when I get there. I'm really excited to change things up. I've really enjoyed my 10/22 journey so far and have learned a lot by trial and error. Nothing bad to say about the MDT Oryx, just figured out after a year of shooting with it that it isn't the right chassis for what I do with my 10/22.
