Is it drilled and tapped if not maybe it can be for a base plate

 

That model was made with both grooved and un-grooved receivers apparently. If it isn't drilled and tapped it will require that to be done. According to Weaver's mount chart it uses #12 bases front and rear.

Thank for your help. I guess can take it to a gun smith and have some screw holes taped. Or as suggested I will post in the Remington forum and hope someone has what I need. As I researched I did see a couple with a side mounted scope but I cannot find that mount either. Again thank you.

I have had taken .22's that weren't grooved to a local gunsmith/machinist and he milled in the grooves into the receiver, sadly he has passed away. Good Luck Chris

 

My old pawnshop rescue 550-1 has a side-mount scope base, but the mounting holes for it were clearly D&T'd aftermarket. Took me awhile to find the Weaver base to match the holes. It serves its purpose just fine, so I wouldn't steer you away from that option.

 

If you do have it drilled n tapped for mounts do the top mounts. Way more options for adding the scope of your choice.

 

Lots of people want a method that doesn't require drilling or tapping screw holes. There are several types of adhesives available that are suitable. See this thread and search the archives here: https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/using-loctite-380-on-scope-base.448489/

 

Will a red dot work for you? You can use the rear sight dovetail for a red dot mount. To access the dovetail, remove the rear sight by unscrewing the two screws. There is a dovetail beneath it.

 

If you take off the dove tail…. What red dot fits?
did you do this to yours? If so…can you share a pic.
