Are there 'D+T' holes on the left side of the barrel? [beside the reciever area?] If it does , you might be able to use a model "N2" weaver mount! You'll have to see if the holes 'Line up' to the holes in the gun! -Good luck!!:t

 

Old Weaver instruction sheet I have states that both rifles mentioned would take an N2 for low position mounting and N3 for high position mounting using the Weaver N type mount. They are relatively common on most auction sites. Hope this helps a little.

 

P.S.-----I installed an N2 mount on my old Savage model 5 with no problems. Holes aligned perfectly,but check center to center hole distance to make sure.

Those old Weaver mounts were typically for 3/4 inch scopes, maybe 7/8 inch diameter scopes. If you have a 1 inch scope you need to make sure you get a 1 inch mt.

 

So true,steve. I should have asked. I just assumed that he would be mounting a 3/4" scope as they were more commonly used on .22's.

 

Don't know if this helps but I have a Springfield 87A that has a Weaver N3 mount and a Weaver Cub on it. I presume it's original.

I believe this is a Weaver N-2 scope mount. It makes the rifle a bit heavier, but is nice setup and shoots well.

Update because people do find these old threads (just like I did now).
That pic of Rim22fire's is not a N-2 mount, which is a 1 piece stamped steel. It is probably a No.(#) 2 base for the top ring piece but they arent the same thing.
I believe the N-2 (low) and 3 (high) were available for 3/4" and 7/8" scopes.

 

Vintage “S” mount works perfectly. Also T-1, T-2, & T-3 all work perfectly, these are all 2 hole mounts that will line up with 2 holes in reciever. They are made for gill guns
