Here goes...RWS Target Rifle 22 LR Ammo, •Bullet Weight: 40 Grains
Lead Round Nose Ballistics Information: Muzzle Velocity: 1082 fps
Is this good ammo or is it just another waste of time? Anyone shot this stuff and how much does it run a box? Thanks!!

I had horrible accuracy with RWS Target Rifle out of my KIDD 10/22. Honestly probably the worst out of every "premium" brand I've tried. Same goes for RWS Rifle Match. I won't ever buy it again. There is a good chance you won't have the same results I did though. A different barrel with a different chamber might shoot great with it, the only way to know is to try it yourself...no one here can tell you how it will perform out of your rifle.

I paid $8.06 per box for it at a local gun shop.

Well, I just paid $6.50 per box for some, but I still hope it turns out to be decent. I guess time will tell. I haven't had a chance to try any of it out.

Different lots. Different guns. We all know the drill. So I have hopes.

But bad ammo is bad ammo regardless.

I've read a variety of reviews of the stuff, and not found any consensus. Some reports were that it was a lot like what I've observed with Eley Sport (purple box). And that means: Three or four shots into a tight group, but always with a flier for the fourth or fifth shot to spoil the group.

Then I've read some other reviews where the shooter just loved the stuff and found it to be considerably better than Wolf MT/SK STD +. So it's just hard to know.

I hope what I got is from a "good lot" or that my guns happen to like it.

Once I and a few friends of mine get a chance to test it, I'll have a better feel for this particular lot with our particular guns. And if this thread still exists, I'll post a report.

I may get a chance to do some shooting this weekend. If so, I may get to try some of this stuff. It's new to me, too.

Shot some this last weekend. Didn't measure any groups but they were pretty consistant and the ammo seemed to perform better out of my Fedderson barrel than the CCI Mini Mags I normally shoot. I paid 6.99 a box (bought 2 bricks at LGS) and will buy more if it becomes available. I should add as a disclaimer that my price might have been abnormal because the Umarex home office who is the distribtor in the US for this ammo is down the street from my LGS and it was delivered in the trunk of a sales reps car (no freight).
