My Ruger 10/22 SBR with a Beyer 4.5" barrel, Kid 2-stage trigger, Rugged Oculus suppressor housed in a old folding stock that I purchased back in the 1980’s from USMC El Torro. Too much fun to shoot. I’ve since installed a Holosun 508T on it and it’s quiet with HV rounds and mouse fart quiet with SV and Subs.

Very nice. I SBR'd my takedown. Barrel was cut .5" longer than the factory barrel band, which put it at 10.25"
With the shoulder right at the band, fore-end milled out to allow the 1"od can.
I've since put it in the Magpul stock. Thinking about going around 7" with the barrel to better suit the fore-end.

Wish I had pics here to show.

Would you mind posting some update photos? I’d really like to see this with a 15rd mag. Nice setup!

@WileyG what is your experience with the reliability of those MWG magazines?
They can be finicky. Attention to the belt is mandatory in that it doesn't creep to one side or the other. And age. The rubber that the belts are made of doesn't age well. I have wiped mine down with the same treatment that vehicle door seals get to prevent dry rot and associated cracking. Other than that just be careful when winding them up because it's very easy to destroy the winding key if it slips and that's why I have several spare keys. They run just fine if all this is addressed. I'd love to see if they'll run full auto but don't have a bullet hose in 22LR.

I never realized there were questions towards me. Let me answer the questions and I’ll post updated photos tomorrow.

1. The suppressor is a Rugged Oculus. However I have used my Dead Air Mask and Gemtech Outback IIID and they all sound great.
2. Sound suppression is great even with HV but it’s exceptionally quiet with SV and subsonic rounds. I would rank my .22 suppressors as Mask, Oculus and Outback.
3. I do not need to remove the action from the stock in order to screw on suppressors. My 3rd photo shows the silver thread protector on the barrel and was for show only since I have a dedicated suppressor installed on it.

Since my initial post, I added a red dot scope and also a binary trigger. The scope is great but the binary trigger is meh.

What distances do you need to be accurate out to and what is your definition of accuracy? Absolute accuracy was not my requirement when I looked at a short barrel. I wanted a short barrel that would allow all bullet speeds (HV, SV and subsonic) to be subsonic for a suppressor host. From my research a barrel in the 4” to 4.5” length was ideal. With my 10/22 SBR I consistently can hit steel targets out to 80 yards which is the distance at my home range. But I couldn’t tell you if it would shoot tight groups.

The kid 2-stage trigger was an amazing when I installed it back in 2014 but in all fairness I haven’t kept up with the latest and greatest so it may not be the top dog anymore. I pulled it off my son’s CMP Rimfire Sporting Rifle since he no longer shoots it. What makes it so great - it gives a light and crisp and consistent trigger pull.
