We are now shooting 50yd 22lr scoped matches.
I am using a Ruger 10/22 Competition with KIDD 8oz/8oz trigger, Athlon 4-27 Aries BTR scope, Ruger Suppressor and Eley Semi Auto BenchRest Precision.
I previously had sighted in the rifle but I guess i am still not comfortable with it’s operation.
First two sighters looked ok and I proceeded to insert a 10rnd mag with 5 loaded.
I have a number of 10rnd mags and loaded 5 of them for the match.
So one mag for each row of 5 bulls basically.
Tried to insert the first mag and got a double feed.
Finally cleared the rifle, inserted another 5 rnd mag and fired all 5, no problem.
Tried to insert another mag and could not. found I had to remove a fired mag, cycle the bolt and then insert the new mag and load.
When cycling the bolt after firing, the bolt appears somewhat stuck and the force is much less after freeing the bolt and cycling again.
So I was somewhat off my game as we only have 30 min for the 25 rnds.
I did do a 4 click adjustment during the match but brought it back 3 clicks after looking at the results.
I’m fairly embarrassed at my score but that is life.
The rifle combo does appears capable of all 10’s if I do my part.
I am going to clean the rifle and shoot a practice round Wed for the next Match on Saturday.
More to come.-Richard
BTW, I did have time after my 25 Match rounds and went back to my first two sighters and hammered in the rounds I had left. Pretty much all 10’s at that time.

There are two of us using Ruger Competitions at the club I belong to. I shoot with a DPT suppressor and don’t have any accuracy issues (excluding human input error) however I break down and clean the suppressor after every shoot. The other Competition user was using the supplied Ruger muzzle brake until he started having similar, or even worse, results than yours one night. It turned out that powder residue was had built up within the muzzle brake causing the bullet to clip on its way through. Some serious cleaning and reaming out the muzzle brake solved the issue. The weekly build up in my suppressor is quite visible after shooting 100 rounds and we are both very aware of this possible issue now
