Rio Bravo Cleaning

I'm just curious, do you Rio Bravo owners bother to open up the action now and then, or just run a Boresnake down the bore after shooting?

I took the receiver cover off when I got the rifle and did a thorough cleaning to get the thick storage oil off everything, then lubed with some Clenzoil. Since then, I've just used the Boresnake.

(I guess the question applies to Henry owners too but the Rossi is easier to take down, IMHO)

Thanks!

I had a bore snake snap off in my Henry lever Action:mad:..No way was it going to come out. Contacted Henry and they sent me an RMA to fix it under warranty. They replaced the barrel, bolt and lever action. Great customer service.:)
Caution, if you dab bore cleaner on your bore snake, eventually it weakens the fabric and makes it more prone to snap off like mine. I suggest replacing bore snakes every six months. Now I clean both my Henry and Rossi with cleaning rods and patches.

If you can get a squib round out of a barrel, you can get a bore snake out. No way is it that difficult.

And then….seriously? They replaced basically everything but the receiver and the stock? Makes zero sense. Did you destroy everything, or did they?
