Hey new to the rim fire world currently looking at a browning sa-22 with cut down barrel (cut just longer than the fore stock) threaded comes with a sound moderator and scope.
How well do they hold up on accuracy compared to New rifles I like the classic design but don't want to waste money as it will be a tool.

I kinda like the short barrel as with the mod kinda brings it to normal length and it's handy for vermin with it being short and great to move my little girl up to as she enjoys shooting air rifle with me

It’s always hard to say when it’s been cut down. It may have shot great with the factory length barrel and then cutting it down changed the harmonics and now it doesn’t shoot as good, or vice versa. Also I’ve had barrels threaded at factory length that shot great unsuppressed. But the groups opened up with the suppressor on it. Then cut the barrel down to 18” from 22” and had it shoot good with and without the suppressor. Outside of the barrel being cut down those rifles are of high quality and spoken well of. If it was me I’d get it. But I like those setups. I have a CZ 512 with a two piece stock that is threaded and I love how it looks and shoots. That Browning reminds me of it.

Decided against getting it I went to look at it today it was worse condition than I expected the barrel locking lug was missing and was really lose and the sound moderator wasn't much use was still really loud but I went for an ugly duckling and got a sabatti sporter without a moderator but far better condition almost new with scope
