Curious as to whether anyone has tried a 10/22 stock from Richards Micro-Fit stocks for a 10/22.

i see they still offer a variety of wood options , & styles...if you tried them, how was the inletting?

Thanks!

I believe it..

from what I've seen, these stocks have always been more or less a do it yourself type proposition...as far as inletting goes, don't expect it to be a good tight drop in fit that just needs the exterior worked on...I've never had one but..

instead of swapping other things like barrels and bolts, like normal people do, my buddy likes to play with these for his rifles..I think he's a bit off o_O

if you do decide to get one, I wish you luck in finishing it...I just don't have the patience for it...

The nleting will be somewhat close but will require you to "fit" your action to the stock....not necessarily a bad thing! The exterior of the stock will be somewhat rough, but with the proper sand paper grits, you can work your way to the finish sand you desire.....much work. At the end of the project, you can have a very nice stock.......just know that it's gunna take some effort & much elbow grease.....at the end of the day, it's about how much effort you want to put I to the project!

Got some nice wood stocks from them over the years.
  • Yes, they'll need some elbow grease (and sanding)
  • Walnut stock, I feel like I got nicer wood than expected.

If you want something they currently don't have in stock... it might take a while... as in, you'll have forgotten about it then a long box will show up at your place...

I tried to finish one for a 10-22 . The inletting was not bad . I ordered the better grade wood . There was a small spot on the left side above trigger that would not sand out (a small knot) . The out side was very rough , much more so than any stocks I have done . The forearm was 3/16 thicker on one side , that's a lot to sand off . I called them about the problems an they sent a replacement . It was just as bad . I gave up an bought a Hogue over molded .
