Yeah, I know another "what's it worth question".... , but I've just never had a lot of the older Remingtons and don't keep up with the values. This listed on a local forum and I know the owner will not ship. I've done business with him and always got my money's worth or more.

As usual when I look for prices on the internet they are all over the place. I don't think it's a steal just don't want to overpay if I decide to let it go in the future.

Would pass or buy???

The price posted in the ad is fair, especially if you want to add a 513T to your collection.
I have a 513T with proper sights but it has been drilled and tapped for a side mount. Excellent condition if you ignore the D&T.
Honestly I don't think I could get $500 locally because of the holes. Everyone talks high prices but very few pay it.:)

Good Luck on Your possible purchase. I would like to get a 513T some Day. I have a 1945 vintage 512 Sport master that is extremely accurate for a tube fed hunting - plinking rifle. One Day
My best Friend and I were at a Bar-B-Q in the country when We noticed zillions of yellow grasshoppers everywhere. I broke out the old Remington and a brick of ammo and began to pick off those hopper bugs. We handed the Rifle back and forth until we couldn't see any more. Didn't matter how far,if We could see em, they were toast. That speaks volumes about an iron sighted Rifle and accuracy. Fun as all get out! Not bad for a$35.00 Rifle.

Buy the gun, you won’t regret it. The old Remington rifles are crazy accurate for what they are. I have a Winchester 61 made in 1953 that’s about a 90% gun with excellent rifling, and it’s a good shooter, but it can’t touch the accuracy of my 511-P or 121 Fieldmaster. You will have a lot of fun with that one!

I have a commercial 513T from 1967 so it is grooved. I bought it new old stock sometime in the '80s but don't recall exactly when. It was a package deal, 2-513Ts and a 521T. I still have the one, my son in law the other 513 and a friend the 521T which he turned around and sold shortly after.... wish I had known.
It's still a good 98% condition, trigger had been tuned and shoots excellent. I don't think $1K would touch it. Odd thing is it has an equivalent Lyman rear sight which is strange being unfired NOS.

Thanks for the offer AJ. I'm sure something will come up. It does appear that the rifle is original. No refinish of the stock or barrel. The owner said he had it for a long, long time. The trigger is just under 2 1/2 lbs. I think that will be fine given the weight of the rifle.

Mine is D&Td if and when I sell it will be top dollar,or I won’t sell .its a shooter,it has a Redfield 75, a Redfield globe and a Super Targetspot 20x ,a great trigger that is safe also,it’s not shiny wood or metal…and more people want them all the time and there’s only so many around.I probably won’t sell til I’m on Gerber s again.
