It's probably a tough call regarding which one would be the better shooter. It likely comes down to individual rifles

Personally, if I already had the P94S, I'd want something different and the Quad would do it for me

I've had both and my preference is the Quad.

 

I'll be amazed if that Quad doesn't double in price in the next 5 days...I've got one with both .22lr and .17hmr barrels and better than average wood that wouldn't leave my hands for 2-3x that.

 

I still regret not buying a Quad back when prices were more reasonable

I have a pile of barrels and it's topped with the original Burris Quad scope, as far as I know unfired.

More seriously, that's a beauty and, if it were mine, I'd still have it around too

 

K22 offered to camo it for me but out of respect for my long time hunting friend whose estate it came from I guess I'll leave it be, his sister wouldn't let me pay what it was worth for it and then gave me five extra barrels we found buried in the "stuff" in his bedroom. My friend Ricky was a hoarder and it took months to clean out and sell off his guns and ammo. I'd only been in his house once before going there with his sister after he passed, a brilliant mathematician but with the hoarding illness, after he retired he lived to hunt and shoot.

 

And the offer is still good, although now I'll have to charge you for the camo job, but I can make all that ugly ol' grainy wood stuff disappear.

Outstanding looking Quad dbr., but a nice camo job would really make it stand out. 😁

This one showed up one day at my house.

 

I have two P94s, actually one is a full-on custom by Gene Davis and the only Sako component is the FinnFire action, and the other is a standard Hunter model with a Lilja barrel. Both shoot very well, sub-MOA. I also a have a Quad Hunter with a very nice Quad Walnut stock and Lilja barrel. It shoots the same. I ain't parting with any of them.

I would say get that quad varmint if you can get it between 11-1200 dollars. I do not think you will be sorry getting it. You can then look for a P94 varmint or sporter. Really hard to find a nicely grained stock unless you want to pay custom stock maker prices. You will have better luck finding a p94 with nice wood then a quad with nice wood. I guess it is how patient you can be till one shows up. Just my years of buying experience buying sako rimfire rifles.

 

Thanks, I really hope this one on broker doesn’t go bonkers. I rarely get excited about a new gun but this one’s got me.

How did you come out on the Sako Quad. Have checked this post a few times waiting to see your results of your quest. Haven't seen any results posted so hope that does not mean things didn't go as well as hoped.

I hope you are successful and get this rifle!

 

I have a Quad Hunter with a .22 and .17m2 barrels. Didn’t realize Quads had gone up that much in value. Had my barrels chopped to 18” for suppressor use. Very accurate, my favorite squirrel rig.

 

Both are fine rifles, I aquired a P94S when they were first available, that rifle shocked me how accurate it was with good ammo, won a few sporter class matchs with it.

 

Sorry to hear that! Oh well another one will show be vigilant! The hunt is most of the fun for me. I like the search and the hunt.

 

Never shot a quad , but have a p94s. My p94s shoots very well . However , spare parts are VERY hard to find for them . Fortunately mine has not needed any.

My thoughts are unless you know the seller, I’d lean to the quad .

That said, I’ll never get rid of my p94s, but I’d feel much better if I could find a spare firing pin .
