I think if the PC ambidextrous thumbhole stock had been an option when I bought my T/CR22, I would have chosen that. But, since I bought it basically as a plinking rifle and for informal target shooting, I'm not inclined to spend more money on a different stock for it. I love the light weight of the original Magpul stock, it has just taken some time for me to figure out the best way to shoot it using my front & rear bags, due to the stock shape on the butt end.

But, if I ever fall down that 10/22 mod rabbit hole, I think the T/CR22 will be a great platform from which to start.

I have the Altamont laminate stocked version of the PC TCR22. I am a bolt action guy, so this was my first foray in years into the semi auto world. I thought that being a PC gun, it might be an alternative to my bolt 22’s for NRL22 matches. Some COF’s favor semis, and with a button rifled barrel and supposedly a great trigger out of the box, it was too much for me to resist. I also a sucker for those evolution style laminate stocks. I do like the heavier weight of the gun.

Well, the trigger is not great, sent to Brimstone for upgrade, much better but still doesn’t match the triggers on my bolt guns so at this point I’m sticking with the bolt guns for NRL22. It does, however cycle through all the ammo I’ve shot thru it, and does very well with hunting ammo such as MMags, so it is now my ground squirrel hunting 22. Accuracy for that is outstanding.

I tried match ammo and accuracy was as good as my trigger work allowed, not quite as good as my bolt guns I’d say, but the trigger is the limiting factor for me. With more practice with it I’m sure I’d improve some, so I won’t give up on it. Flat nosed ammo has shown some feeding problems not surprisingly, but round nosed feeds perfect. A work in progress.
