Pelican case firearms storage

I normally never store guns in a case because they can rust anywhere the metal is contacted. I've seen it before.
But.... I bought a Pelican case for my blued Ruger MKIV. I've got it all pretty with the foam cut out for the pistol and 14 mags. I'd like to store it in there as a grab and go play option. (I bought Silica Gel packs and put 4 of them in the case to absorb any moisture.) That little voice in my head is telling that this may not be a good idea.
Can anyone confirm either way?
I want everyone to reassure me that it's going to be fine, but I prefer the truth.
Its being stored in a non humid area placed in a closet.

Thanks!

Pelican makes many of their cases specifically for guns. I suggest reading what they say. I have a great deal invested in guns, the cases are far superior to any other form of storage I have ever found.

7 Tips for Long-Term Gun Storage | Pelican

Here are some WWII High Powers. Most have wooden grips the same as the lugers you see above. I just haven't experienced any issue at all. Don't be confused though, cheap cases use cheap foam, Pelican makes a quality product.

I just installed the DAKA system in a Pelican Vault 800 for my Vudoo. If you haven't seen it yet it is WONDERFUL for those of us who are always tinkering with stuff hanging off our rifles and various accessories for them. I can't count how many times I've cut and re-cut foam with an unhealthy amount of grumbling.

The DAKA system has Lego-like blocks that allow many combinations of space for your gear. Check it out. I believe Pelican is soon coming out with a proprietary case for the DAKA system.

Just be aware, that certain types of foam, used in gun cases, can leave an impression on Wood stock finishes. Probably not an issue on Metal/plastic, but Wood finishes can get messed up.
Maybe it has to do with out-gassing of the foam chemicals??
I've read its the release agent used on the foam that may cause marking of the finishes of wooden stocks. I got a 5MM rf in a gun deal that had a ruined finish on the walnut stock where one could see the egg imprints in the finish from long term storage in a foam case in a closet. The previous owner only knew it was years. Alas I took no before pix of the stock before I stripped and refinished it.
That said I do not know if the pelican foam would do the same or not.
