nef

after doing a BOAT load of research i am ordering a stevens 200 in .223,,, the nef talk i have seen reminds me of the 10/22, a very reliable gun that hits what you shoot at but if you want to make little groups on paper or shoot that woodchuck at 300yds not the gun for you unless your into tinkering, on the sand bag the same place every time, oring under the forearms etc etc,,, all the stevens talk i have seen is take it out of the box slap a scope on it and shoot the heck out of it oh wait,, sand the sharp edges off the stock and camo paint it so no one knows thats you bought a STEVENS,, :D i already have my camo paint on hand for when it gets here ;)

i bought a .223 handi rifle youth model for the kids a couple years ago. more than likely you'll need to tinker with it if you want nice groups at 100 yrds and beyond. it is a result of the make of the rifle and some of the lawyer features it and most guns have. they tend to have a tad toop deep of throats so if you reload you can adjust for that. a little bedding with the forearm and learning to keep it rested near the action when shooting from bags will all help. grey beards is the place for info on the handi rifle. another place you can post question on centerfires is http://huntingfirearms.proboards59.com/index.cgi
several guys on there can enlighten you to what ever you need and if you're into real smoke poles (not inline) two moons is the best.:bthumb:
