A friend has me helping with an old Springfield 22. He said his dad got it when he was 12 yo. He turns 95 this year and his son wants me to get it going to give back to his father. I will do the work for free but there is a problem.

I can't find a model. I think it may be a Meteor 52A from descriptions on the net. It is a single shot s, l, or LR. Large head takedown screw. finger groove stock, steel butt plate. The serious problem is it is missing the complete bolt.

Any info on getting a complete bolt or even another old rifle with bolt would be appreciated.

Savage names

I have a 1952 JC higgens single shot with the bolt hammer model 103.xxx (its teaching my nephew the beauty of accuracy just like the one I learned on) that is made by savage/stevens. So when they did put a model the put somebody esles name. The guns appear very similar in what I could google so internally there may be some interchangeability with higgens. If you havent solved it yet Good luck
