I see a couple of options... cant the front sight if you don't need a lot of adjustment.....cut a shim from brass shim stock or aluminum soda can to fit the V of the 1913 rail... mill the rear sight slot wider, so that the sight insert can move slightly more laterally, and the same for the slot in the sight slider the set screw locks in... I'd quickly reach a my frustration level of not having repeatable precise clicks, I think I'd cut my losses and get an Ozark Armament adjustable rear sight (that Striplin uses) good luck with your choice

 

What mags are you gonna use? I tried to 10/22 for Steel Challenge. It wasnt pretty. All the malfunctions

 

For my RFRO I use the Ruger 15 round mags. Have functioned perfectly for me over a number of matches and different rifles. Easy to manipulate in/out of the rifle and pick up off the table during the stage. Ten round versions were difficult to manage and not as reliable, regardless of the guts/cleaning in/of the magazine.

 

I have very few malfunctions maybe one in 3 matches. I have had one failure to fire bad primer, it had a good firing pin dent.

 

I think that if some bright kid with a 3D printer would make an adapter to use the MKIV stick magazines, and adapt to a 10/22 mag well, they could make college tuition.... regards Les
