Got my new LH 457 Varmint cleaned up, torque checked and scope mounted and leveled. Wish the wind and weather would cooperate so I can get in some ammo testing. I was hoping to shoot an N50 match this weekend at OKC Gun Club. It's full already and I'm not prepared anyway.

Nice! I picked up a LH 457 Amercian a few months ago. Saw it when I was picking up a differnet rifle and had to "get it while you can". You never know when the next batch is going to roll out. Could be years. Wish it was a Varmint though. I had a RH Varmint that was really accurate. Gave it to my son when we moved south. Question: Is the stock the same for the Varmint and American? I considered getting a Varmint barrel but I didn't't think there would be enough would in the forend if I inletted it. But if the factory thought there was enough wood and used the same stock, that's good enough for me.

I heard about those matches last Fall, didn’t realize that was what they were called.

Thought I would be shooting against high end air guns, but it looks like I could do sportsman .22 rimfire. I shoot LH Bergara B14R.

Maybe I will be able to shoot the match sometime.

Looks great. If I could have gotten it left handed in 22 WMR, I would have. But I bought the left handed 457 American in 22 WMR and am quite satisfied. I also bought a 22LR barrel for my 457 and look forward to giving that a try some day. So, let us know how it shoots.
