Been a lurker for a long time on RFC and have learned a LOT. Thanks . Bought a new Henry H001 TLP. Went to the range yesterday. Shot at 50 yards. First time in over 20 years I have been able to use open sights. Love them Skinners. I put up 3 targets with 3 " bullseyes. Shot 50 rounds of Champion. 50 rounds of Lightning (new stock) and 50 rounds of CCI SV. I did this cause it was fun! All rounds were pretty much on target (mostly 3" groups) with the usuaal flyers. CCI SV performed the best. Love my Henry. With more practice it will do better. It was within MOA of a armdillo.

I have the .22 Mag version of the Henry Small Game Carbine. Great gun. Short & handy. Love the Skinner sights, especially at my age.

I also have a older Winchester 9422 in .22 Mag and side by side I'd say the quality is comparable. Only difference is that the receiver on the Henry isn't blued, but is a coated aluminum. I but a set of "One Ragged Hole" peeps on the 9422 a few years back.

Hard to say which one is my favorite. But I am seriously thinking of getting another Henry "Small Game", but in the Rifle format. Also in .22 Mag.

On a side note: just saw that Henry is now offering "precision" lever guns in .223/5.56 & .308 & .243. A .223 lever gun! Now I can sell my Colt AR :)
