I saw this single shot adapter on eBay. Curious what folks here think or if it new to everyone, then heads on another source.

I am sure the link wont last long here the description. Made by D3 Precision. They may have a website?

I have had one of the D3 trigger blades for the Anschutz 5098 trigger and it was very well made. I also have one of PW Nolans single shot adaptors and it works better for me than the Anschutz one did. For $25 I would defiantly be interested in seeing on of D3's if they make one for Anschutz 54 and 64 actions.

I only wish there was one for a CZ 457 in 22 WMR. There are several reasons why I prefer treating all rifles like they are single shot rifles.
  • Early on in my shooting I learned a series of cartridges loaded into the chamber from a magazine will never be as consistently accurate as we get if each cartridge is loaded carefully with a single shot adapter.
  • I never find myself needing to take a quick second shot.
  • I shoot (waste) less ammunition and save money while improving my accuracy.

Now why would that be with a well-designed action, bolt and magazine (think Vudoo or Rim-X)? If the bullet isn't scarred in any way during feeding, how can it make a measurable difference?

I personally have (and compete with) a Vudoo V22-R and a Vudoo V22-S. Both are match winners, and both make the equivalently tight groups from the same lot-tested match ammo.

I bought one of theses aluminium adapters, it doesn't work in my manners stock. He makes them to be very flush with the bottom of the rifle., guess they're not quite long enough to lock in on the manners stock.

It works great in my CZ 452 American.

I'm curious to see if it works for you.

I was under the impression CZ was offing some models with a tight chamber. My gut feeling is going single shot would be of more benefit in those rifles. I also think when chasing the last fraction of an MOA with chassis and tuners an ss adapter would be part of the equipment. Even if completion or general shooting calls for a magazine, an ss adapter would be useful too setup a rifle and ammo testing before switching over to a magazine.

For when I've had to use a single-shot adapter for a particular match due to their requirements, especially in winter, I designed and use a pen-style cartridge holder to get the round started into the chamber. With cold hands, or even just my OLD hands, it makes it a lot easier so that I don't overshoot the sled recess on the adapter. I don't have a photo of it with my CZ single-shot adapter, but here it is with my Vudoo one.

Where can I get one of these?
I've got two Marketplace listings that have single-shot helpers in them, including the one you asked about:

I'm the guy making the aluminum single shot adapters mentioned here. This is the second batch. The first go around I had some, maybe 5%, that wouldn't snap into the magazine well of a particular rifle. I have 6-7 cz's from 452's to 457's and they work well in mine and I tried them in some buddies rifles but some I guess are tighter. This batch I adjusted the lip that the latch engages some so hopefully no issues of this sort this time around.

Certain stocks, like the Manners stocks seem to be a little deeper in the forearm. I changed the bottom of mine some from the standard CZ design. The reason for this was so the bottom of the ss adapter stuck down less and was a little better looking. Also, being a silhouette shooter it's nicer for offhand since it doesn't protrude as much. The issue is that with deeper stocks the ss adapter catches on the stock. I think I will make them in the future with smooth sides so that this isn't an issue.

I put contact info in with all of them so if you have an issue give me a call or email.

I have a plastic single shot adapter for my CZ452 American. I bought it along with two magazines as a package deal with the rifle at Bud's Guns. I have had it for more than ten years. It works perfectly with the OEM stock and with the Don Stith Benchrest stock that I have for that rifle.

There are only two things I am unhappy with about my new CZ 457 22 WMR. That is the lack of a single shot adapter and the dark brown finish on the OEM stock for that rifle. I had expected a stock similar to the ones that came with my other two CZs: the CZ 452 American (22LR) and the CZ 527 (223 Rem). Those two have very similar nice looking wood. The 457 has very dark wood that hides any grain (assuming there is any nice grain under the dark brown finish). Here are pictures of the 527 and the 457. The difference is pretty easy to see. Well actually the difference between these two stocks is greater than my pictures here show.
